Padres Announce Additional Non-Roster Invites to Major League Spring Training
The San Diego Padres announced today they have extended Major League Spring Training invitations to 21 additional players.
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres announced today they have extended Major League Spring Training invitations to 21 additional players. Among those 21 players are four minor league free agents whom the Padres have signed to 2019 contracts that will be new to the organization this season, including outfielder Boog Powell, catcher Chris Stewart, left-handed pitcher Eric Stout and right-hander Carlos Torres. Catcher Webster Rivas also returns to the Padres organization in 2019 on a minor league contract.
The full list of the 29 non-roster invitees includes eight right-handed pitchers, seven left-handers, two catchers, seven infielders and five outfielders. Of the 29 invitees, nine have Major League experience. Additionally, nine of the 29 were originally drafted by San Diego. Below is a complete and current list of all non-roster players who will attend 2019 Major League Spring Training with the Padres:
