Oakland A's hire Vince Vengapally as Vice President of Technology
The Oakland Athletics have hired Vince Vengapally as Vice President of Technology, the club announced today. In this newly created role, Vengapally will oversee all the technology initiatives for the club. His first day with the club will be July 9.
The Oakland Athletics have hired Vince Vengapally as Vice President of Technology, the club announced today. In this newly created role, Vengapally will oversee all the technology initiatives for the club. His first day with the club will be July 9.
"Vince's leadership and expertise will allow us to leverage technology to elevate everything we do. Under his leadership, we will continue to invest in the fan experience at the Coliseum, enhance our business and baseball operations, and develop the next generation technology experience for our new ballpark in Oakland," said Oakland A's Chief Operating Officer Chris Giles.
Prior to joining the A's, Vengapally spent the last decade at Google, focused on enterprise technology in a variety of different roles. Vengapally has a BSE in Computer Engineering from UC Davis, a MSE in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University, and a MBA from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton). Vengapally was born in Oakland and is the son of Varghese Vengapally, who spent 20+ years serving Alameda County Social Services. Vince is excited to continue the family tradition of serving the East Bay community.
