August 15th, 2024

MIAMI – Major League Baseball today announced the 2025 Spring Training schedule, featuring Miami’s Grapefruit League Opening Day matchup as the home team versus the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, February 22 at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Fla.

The Marlins are set to play 30 exhibition games during 2025 Spring Training, including 15 games at home and 15 on the road. Of the 15 road games, 13 will take place on the East Coast of Florida, including seven at Cacti Park of the Palm Beaches (three at Washington and four at Houston), three at Clover Park to face New York (NL), and the remaining three as the away team at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium against St. Louis.

The schedule also sees Miami travel to the West Coast of Florida for two games, taking on the Atlanta Braves at CoolToday Park in North Port, Fla. on Thursday, March 6, and the Boston Red Sox at JetBlue Park in Bradenton, Fla. on Friday, March 7. Both teams are also set to play in Jupiter, as the Marlins will host Atlanta on Friday, February 28, and Boston on Friday, March 14. It marks the first time the Fish will match-up with the division rival Braves in exhibition play since the 2020 Summer Camp held during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the teams split two games at Truist Park. The Marlins dropped both games to Boston in the last Spring set in 2023.

The 2025 schedule also features three split-squad matchups: on Monday, March 3 vs. Houston and at New York (NL), on Monday, March 10 vs. Washington and at Washington, and on Saturday, March 22 vs. St. Louis and at Houston.

MLB will return the Spring Breakout initiative for its second annual year, as Miami’s top prospects will go head-to-head with St. Louis’s top prospects on Friday, March 14, at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. The two clubs met last year, with the Marlins prospects winning 3-2, as LHP Thomas White (MLB Pipeline’s No. 46 prospect overall) struck out three batters in one scoreless inning to start the game.

The Miami Marlins conclude Grapefruit League play with an away game at Clover Park against the New York Mets on Sunday, March 23, before returning home to face the Pittsburgh Pirates for 2025 Opening Day on Thursday, March 27.
