February 21, 2023 – With full squad workouts underway, MLB Network announced it will air at least one live Spring Training game for 32 consecutive days beginning with the Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves this Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. ET. The New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays will be featured this Sunday, Feb. 26 live at 1 p.m. ET. For all Spring Training games involving two MLB teams, Major League Baseball’s new rules for 2023 – the pitch timers, shift restrictions and bigger bases – will be in effect. As part of its Spring Training schedule, MLB Network will air Team USA’s exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, March 8 live at 9 p.m. ET, as it prepares for the first round in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. MLB Network’s Yonder Alonso, Greg Amsinger, Robert Flores, Cliff Floyd, Stephen Nelson, Carlos Peña, Dan Plesac and Lauren Shehadi will report on-site across the Grapefruit League and Cactus League for MLB Network’s Spring Training Sprint series through Monday, March 6. Beginning yesterday with the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers, the series will feature interviews with star players, analysis and predictions across MLB Network’s Hot Stove presented by The General Insurance, High Heat and MLB Tonight. As part of the series, MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo will contribute an overview of the organizational prospect depth each team has leading up to Opening Day. Social media engagement will also be included throughout the series with @MLBNetwork sharing fan poll questions that will be featured on-air. MLB Network’s Top 100 Players Right Now! countdown series presented by Topps Now concludes this week with the final two episodes tomorrow (20-11) and Thursday (10-1) at 8 p.m. ET. Greg Amsinger will be joined by Dan Plesac and Chris Young for tomorrow’s episode, followed by Carlos Peña and Harold Reynolds for the live unveil on Thursday. To date, the World Series Champion Houston Astros have the most players ranked inside the top 100, with Jose Altuve (23), Alex Bregman (24), Kyle Tucker (30), José Abreu (40), Framber Valdez (56), Jeremy Peña (64) and Cristian Javier (80).
Each Spring Training game aired on MLB Network will be a carriage of local telecasts, including local announcers, and not available in each club’s home market unless otherwise noted.
