DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers will host their annual "Strike Out Bullying" rally on Wednesday, June 8 as part of the Tigers Class Outside Series, presented by Oakland University at Comerica Park prior to the game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:10 p.m.

DETROIT - The Detroit Tigers will host their annual "Strike Out Bullying" rally on Wednesday, June 8 as part of the Tigers Class Outside Series, presented by Oakland University at Comerica Park prior to the game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:10 p.m. The rally will start at 10:40 a.m. and last until 11:30 a.m.
The Tigers organization recognized the epidemic of bullying in schools and identified an opportunity to advocate for Michigan's school children. In 2011, the Tigers launched the "Strike Out Bullying" program and nearly a quarter of a million students throughout the state of Michigan have been impacted by the program. In 2013, The Detroit Tigers were awarded the Commissioner's Award for Philanthropic Excellence for the Club's anti-bullying program. The award was created to recognize the charitable and philanthropic efforts of MLB clubs.
On Wednesday, June 8, the Tigers will host a "Strike Out Bullying" rally in conjunction with 'Defeat The Label', a Michigan based and internationally known non-profit organization that is empowering students to take a stand in their schools and communities against bullying. This interactive presentation includes speakers from education and law enforcement about recognizing and speaking up about bullying. Additional speakers from professional sports and other celebrities may be included as well.
