LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their seven selections from day two of the 2024 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, picking Central Bucks East High School third baseman Chase Harlan (third round), Cal Poly left-handed pitcher Jakob Wright (fourth round), Mississippi State right-handed pitcher Brooks Auger (sixth round), Oregon State shortstop Elijah Hainline (seventh round), Newman Central Catholic High School outfielder Brendan Tunink (eighth round), Troy outfielder Kole Myers (ninth round) and Loyola Marymount right-handed pitcher Seamus Barrett (10^th round)

Yesterday, Los Angeles selected shortstop Kellon Lindsey from Hardee High School (Wauchula, FL) in the first round with the 23^rd overall pick. The team continued to add on day two, landing three pitchers and four position players, including two high school and five collegiate players.

With their first of seven picks on day two of the draft, the Dodgers selected third baseman Chase Harlan out of Central Bucks East High School (Doylestown, PA) with the 98^th overall pick. The Clemson commit was a Pennsylvania First-Team All-State selection in 2024 after slashing .382/.506/.750 with five home runs and 23 RBI. His power at the plate was on full display at this year’s MLB Draft Combine, finishing at the top of the leaderboard on day one of the combine with a max home run distance of 453.4 feet and second with a max exit velocity of 112.4 miles per hour.

After using their first two picks of the draft on position players, the Dodgers used the 128^th overall selection to take left-handed pitcher Jakob Wright out of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs ace comes off a breakout redshirt sophomore season, recording a 9-3 record with a 2.97 ERA (29 ER/88.0 IP) and 1.28 WHIP in 15 starts. The Paso Robles, California native also struck out 101 batters (10.3 K/9) to lead the Mustangs’ pitching staff and was named to the 2024 All-Big West First Team.

The Dodgers added another pitcher with the 190^th overall selection, taking right-hander Brooks Auger from Mississippi State University. After missing the 2023 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, the Farmerville, Louisiana native spun a 1-2 record with two saves, a 3.35 ERA (17 ER/45.2 IP) and 50 strikeouts in 20 appearances (five starts) with the Bulldogs in 2024. He was also named to the 2024 SEC All-Tournament team after striking out a career-high 13 batters across 8.0 innings pitched in his start against in-state rival Ole Miss.

The Dodgers took their third college player of the 2024 draft with the 220^th overall pick, selecting shortstop Elijah Hainline out of Oregon State University in the seventh round. This past season, Hainline slashed .280/.402/.537 with 16 doubles, three triples, 11 HR and 45 RBI in 59 games with the Beavers. The Spokane, Washington native also recorded 15 multi-hit games during his junior year and was selected as an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention twice during his collegiate career.

In the eighth round, the Dodgers selected their first outfielder of the draft, taking high school standout Brendan Tunink with the 250^th overall pick. The lefty mashed in his four years at Newman Central Catholic High School (Sterling, IL), slashing .479/.654/.826 with 28 home runs and 112 RBIs in 100 career games. He was named to the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association’s All-State team for three years in-a-row and is currently committed to the University of Notre Dame.

The 280^th overall pick of this year’s draft was also used on an outfielder, with the Dodgers selecting Kole Myers out of Troy University. The 6-foot-1 senior started 59 games and recorded a .323/.487/.570 slashline with 81 runs, 72 hits and 44 RBI. The Lafayette, Louisiana native led the Sun Belt Conference in stolen bases (34), walks (62) and triples (4) and was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team in 2024. His 62 walks also ranked third nationally and were the second most in a single season in Troy history.

The final pick on day two for the Dodgers was used to select Seamus Barrett, a right-handed pitcher out of Loyola Marymount University. The 6-7 hurler posted a 2-4 record with a 4.78 ERA (23 ER/43.1 IP) and 58 strikeouts in 25 games (seven starts). Prior to transferring to LMU, Barrett spent his first two seasons at the University of Louisville, where he was teammates with Dodgers top prospect Dalton Rushing.
