The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have selected the contract of outfielder Jordan Beck (#27) from Triple-A Albuquerque and have placed outfielder Nolan Jones on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 29) with a low back strain. Additionally, left-handed pitcher Lucas Gilbreath has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.
Beck, 23, is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the fourth-best prospect in the Rockies system and the #73 overall prospect in baseball … in 25 games with Triple-A Albuquerque, has slashed .307/.405/.594 with 10 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 28 RBI and five stolen bases … ranks among Pacific Coast League leaders in doubles (T-1st), extra-base hits (17, T-2nd), RBI (3rd), hits (T-3rd) and OPS (.999, 10th) … was a non-roster invite to Major League Spring Training for the first time in 2024 and hit .370 (10-for-27) in 18 games, winning the Abby Greer Award for the club’s Spring Training Most Valuable Player … originally selected by Colorado in the CB-A Round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Tennessee, the Hazel Green, Ala., native has slashed .280/.380/.513 with 51 doubles, four triples, 33 home runs and 138 RBI across five Minor League seasons.
