ANAHEIM - The Angels today acquired minor league right-handed pitchers Janson Junk and Elvis Peguero from the New York Yankees in exchange for LHP Andrew Heaney and cash considerations.  

Junk, 25, has appeared in 14 games (12 starts) for Double-A Somerset this season, fashioning a 4-1 record with a 1.78 ERA (65.2 IP - 13 ER). The right-hander leads all of Double-A in ERA, ranks third in batting average against (.185) and fourth in WHIP (0.96). Ranked 27th by MLB.com on New York's Top-30 prospects, Junk has posted a 16-15 lifetime record with a 3.72 ERA (254.1-105 ER) across four minor league seasons.

Peguero, 24, has combined to go 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA (44.1 IP - 11 ER) in 21 games (all in relief) between High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset this season. He has compiled 57 strikeouts while walking 16 this year. A native of Cotui, Dominican Republic, Peguero was originally signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2015. 

Heaney, 30, has made 18 starts for the Angels this season, going 6-7 with a 5.27 ERA (94 IP - 55 ER) and 113 strikeouts. In seven seasons in an Angels uniform, Heaney went 30-33 with a 4.51 ERA (569.1 IP - 285 ER) and 593 strikeouts across 102 starts. Heaney was acquired by the Angels on Dec. 10, 2014 from the Dodgers in exchange for Howie Kendrick.
