A's Place RHP Petit on the Bereavement List; Recall RHP Trivino from Nashville
The Oakland A's placed right-handed pitcher Yusmeiro Petit on the bereavement list and recalled right-handed pitcher Lou Trivino from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's placed right-handed pitcher Yusmeiro Petit on the bereavement list and recalled right-handed pitcher Lou Trivino from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today. Petit was on the family medical emergency list from April 17-20 and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings over two outings following his return. He has a 2.51 ERA and .250 opponents batting average in 12 games overall with the A's. Petit has not walked a batter in 14.1 innings and his innings pitched are the most in the majors among pitchers with no walks.
Trivino joins the A's for the second time this year. He was recalled for the first time April 17 and made his Major League debut that day against Chicago (AL) with a scoreless inning of relief. The right-hander picked up his first big league win the next day when he tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in the A's 12-11, 14-inning win over the White Sox. Trivino was optioned back to Nashville April 19, pitched yesterday at Omaha (1.0 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 2 so) and has a save and a 1.69 ERA in four relief appearances with the Sounds overall.
