Spent most of the season in Triple-A Columbus, making his Major League debut in June and spending the last five weeks on the ML roster after the season-ending injury to José Ramίrez...Was recalled for the firs time, June 28 at Baltimore, making his debut that night in a start at third base...Optioned back to Columbus on June 30, appearing in two games in Baltimore ... Spent over two months in separate stints on the Minor League Injured List, April 17-June 17, with a sprained knuckle on his left hand (fourth/"ring" finger that dated back to Spring Training ... Around his IL tenure and MLB debut he batted .253 (64-for-253) with 15 2B, 1 3B, 9 HR and 39 RBI in 68 games for the Clippers … On year at Triple-A, he hit .283 (15-for-53) with an .897 OPS vs. LHP and batted .294 (20-for-68) with RISP … At AAA he appeared in 23 games at second base, 22 games at shortstop and 17 games at third base ... Spent the entire season in AA Akron, tallied 24 homers and 66 RBI, both of which were the second-most among Akron's offense...Chang led the team in runs scored (72), while ranking second in walks (52), third in doubles (24) and fourth in hits (97)...His 24 home runs marked a single-season career-high, 11 more than his previous high of 13 in 2016 and were the fourth-most among Indians minor leaguers. He also ranked among organizational leaders in runs scored (T2nd) and RBI (5th)...Ranked 5th in the Eastern League in homers and T4th in runs and was a Midseason E.L.
