Signed a one-year Major League contract with the Royals on December 15...Pitched a majority of the season at Rochester (AAA) in the Minnesota Twins' organization, but had four stints in the Majors...Made his big league debut on June 19, taking a no-decision in a 4-2 win over the White Sox…Allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 7.0 innings in his first start...According to Elias Sports Bureau, at 30 years, 175 days, he was the oldest starting pitcher to make his debut for the Twins since Jug Thesenga did for the Senators in 1944 (30 years, 127 days)...Recorded first MLB win July 10, allowing one run on seven hits over 5.0 innings in a 4-2 triumph at Seattle…also earned a win in Game 1 of a doubleheader with Detroit (12-4) on August 23...Tied for seventh in the International League in victories…his 2.47 ERA would have been tops in the league, but he did not have enough innings to qualify…Posted a perfect 7-0 mark and an 0.92 ERA (5 ER in 49.0 IP) in his nine outings at home...Tossed seven-inning complete-game shutouts against Pawtucket (2-0 on April 17) and Louisville (2-0 on May 3).

Started season with Double-A Pensacola (Cincinnati) after signing as a minor league free agent January 20…Posted four scoreless appearances (1 start) with 11 strikeouts, three hits allowed and no walks in 11.0 innings pitched…Promoted to Triple-A Louisville April 18…Recorded season-high 10 strikeouts (6.2 IP) July 3 vs. Indianapolis…Went 2-0, 1.24 ERA (36.1 IP, 5 ER) with 31 strikeouts in six July games (5 starts), including a two-hit complete game shutout July 25 at Syracuse…Went 1-2, 2.60 ERA (27.2 IP, 8 ER) with six saves in 15 relief appearances for the Bats and 4-5, 3.46 ERA (93.2 IP, 36 ER) with one complete games as a starter…Held right-handed hitters to a .214 (60-for-281) average at Louisville and lefties to a .300 (54-for-180) average…Signed as a minor league free agent with Minnesota December 12.

Spent majority of season with Double-A New Hampshire (Toronto) but had three different stints with Triple-A Las Vegas, where he allowed 23 runs in 9.1 innings pitched over three starts...pitched two complete games - July 8 vs. New Britain (7.0 IP) and July 27 at Altoona (6.0 IP)...went 5-1, 1.89 ERA (38.0 IP, 8 ER) in six August starts for New Hampshire...recorded season-high 10 strikeouts (7.0 IP) August 29 vs. Portland...played for Tigres de Aragua in the VWL, going 4-5, 4.54 ERA (41.2 IP, 21 ER) with six walks and 35 strikeouts in 27 games...declared minor league free agency following the season.

Started season with Double-A Akron (Cleveland) and pitched in three games before being acquired by Toronto via trade in exchange for cash considerations; reported to Double-A New Hampshire...pitched complete game August 19 at New Britain, allowing three runs (2 earned) on seven hits and was dealt the loss...set season-high and tied career-high with 10 strikeouts in next start August 25 vs. Harrisburg...posted a 3.15 ERA (34.1 IP, 12 ER) with just four walks and 38 strikeouts in seven August games (5 starts).

114K)...Was tied for 9th in the International League in wins, 11th in innings, 9th in strikeouts and 1st in runs, earned
runs and HR allowed (T2nd in hits allowed)...Struck out 10 Mudhens on August 25 at Toledo (6.0IP) and went 3-0 w/a 3.47 ERA in 4 April starts (23.1IP, 22H, 9ER,
25K) and won his first 4 decisions covering 5 starts thru May 2....Went 1-0 w/a 0.60 ERA in 2 International League starts

different stops in the Twins and Indians organizations...At Triple A he was 4-2 w/a 2.49 ERA in 10 starts (65.0IP,
49H, 18ER, 13BB, 58K, .95whip)...At the time of the trade he had split the 2009 season between AA New Britain and AAA Rochester where he was
a combined 7-3 w/a 3.03 ERA in 40 games/12 starts (113.0IP, 98H, 38ER, 27BB, 108K)...The 3.03 ERA was
the 6th lowest in the Twins system at the time of the trade....He started the year at New Britain (5-1, 3.19ERA,
