High School where he lettered three times in baseball .... helped his team to the league championship his senior year and was named Poway's Male Athlete of the Year in 2005...earned team MVP honors and First Team All-CIF honors in 2005 after leading his team offensively and also going 7-0 as a pitcher...lettered in football in 2004...attended University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) where he hit the second pitch he saw in his collegiate career over the fence for a solo home run against Pepperdine on 2/3/06...after his junior season (2008) was named the 2008 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year, UNLV's Sportsman of the Year and Louisville Slugger Second Team All-American after he won the MWC Triple Crown, leading the league in batting average (.379), home runs (20) and RBI (65)...resides in Redondo Beach, Calif.

Spent his second full season with Springfield (AA), starting 127 games at first base...Had a career high 111 hits, 48 of which where extra-base hits (43%)...His 29 home runs ranked 2nd in the Texas League and led all Cardinals minor league players, while his 81 RBI ranked 4th in the Cardinals minor league organization. Has hit 20+ homers in four-straight seasons (2010-13)...His .487 slugging pct was 5th in the league and 82 walks led the league and were 2nd among all Cards minor leaguers...Named the Texas League Player of the Week on 5/6 after going 7-13 (.538) that included four home runs and 10 RBI...Started the week off with a two-homer game vs. Arkansas and hit the go-ahead home run in the 7th vs. Tulsa on 5/4.

Spent the season playing 130 games with Double-A Springfield ....... ranked 2nd in the Texas League with 91 RBI, which also ranked 2nd among Cardinals minor leaguers ..... ranked 2nd among Cardinals minor leaguers in home runs (22), 5th in walks (58) and T6th with 26 doubles ..... batted a team high .276 with one home run and 5RBI in the Texas League playoffs ..... tied for the most Texas League playoff hits with eight ..... named the Texas League Player of the Week 8/6-12 (.429, 9-21).

Played the entire year at Palm Beach (High-A)...ranked 4th in the Florida State League with 21 home runs and ranked 5th with a .494 slugging pct....homered every 19.57 at-bats, ranking 4th in the FSL.

Began the season at High-A Palm Beach...named Flordia State League Player of the Week (5/31-6/6) in which he batted .438 (7-16) with four home runs and 8 RBI...named a FSL All-Star...promoted to Springfield (AA) on 7/26...ranked in the Top-10 among Cardinals minor leaguers in home runs (3rd, 21), RBI (4th, 74) and slugging percentage (T9th, .472).
2009
Began the season at Batavia (A) for a second season and was transferred to Quad Citiies (A) on 8/3 where he finished out the season...was named Midwest Leage Player of the Week (8/3-9) his first week in the league, batting .556 (15-27) with four homers and 15 RBI, including a 5-for-6 game at Burlington (8/9) and a 5 RBI game vs. Cedar Rapids (8/5)...hit 14 home runs between Batavia and Quad Citites to rank T5th among Cardinals minor leaguers...ranked T9th with 59 RBI and 10th in walks (44).
2008
Upon being drafted and signing with the Cardinals, reported to Batavia (A) where he got off to a slow start
(4-41 in June) before hitting .275 in July...played strictly at first.
