William Paul Bloomquist…resides in Scottsdale, Ariz., with his wife Lisa and daughters Natalie, Ava Lynn and Layla…graduated from South Kitsap HS in Port Orchard in 1996…All-State and all-league MVP in baseball…high school teammates with former Major Leaguer Jason Elllison…drafted out of high school in the 8th round of the 1996 draft by Seattle, but chose to accept a scholarship to Arizona State University…was a business management major at ASU…honored as Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1999 and named first-team All-American by Baseball America…was GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American…collected 5 hits in 1998 College World Series game vs. Long Beach State to tie CWS single-game record…finished college career with a .394 (256x649) average over three seasons…started the "Abe & Max Fund" at Phoenix Children's Hospital in 2011 after developing friendships with Abe Speck and Max Marangella through his inseason program…the funds are used to supply the hospital with new electronics and games for the patients, many of whom are in the hospital for multiple weeks, as a fun and entertaining activity.

Played 48 games in his third season with the D-backs and hit .317 (44x139) . Batted .400 (10-for-25) with runners in scoring position. Began the season on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right intercostal. Recorded 4 straight multi-hit games to start the season, matching a club record. Recorded 100th career double June 4 at St. Louis. On the 15-day disabled list from June 28-Aug. 27 with a left hand contusion…was hit on his left hand by Tyler Clippard on June 26 at Washington. Played for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Bloomquist had a walk-off RBI single against Oakland's Kiko Calero on Sept. 25. Bloomquist had a career-high five hits in a victory over Texas on Sept. 19. Saw his streak of 19 consecutive stolen bases -- dating back to 2005 -- snapped on May 17.

2001

Spent entire season with double-A San Antonio...finished 3rd in the Texas League in stolen bases...played 76 games at shortstop and 57 games at second base...hit .433 (13x30, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 5 SB) in eight games April 7-14...stole three bases April 10 vs. El Paso...hit safely in 12 straight games May 28-June 8 (20x56, 7 2B, 6 RBI)...had four straight multi-hit games July 6-9 (8x20/.400)...broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the 15th inning with a bases-loaded single July 9 vs. El Paso.

2000

Split the season between Lancaster and Tacoma, hitting a combined .313 with 24 doubles and 74 RBI...began the year with Lancaster and hit in 14 of 16 games from April 9-24...was 6x7 with a double and four RBI April 30 vs. Lake Elsinore...promoted to Tacoma for seven games from May 6-12 before returning to Lancaster May 13...hit in 25 of 26 games, putting together hitting streaks of 15 (June 13-July 2) and 10 (July 4-16) games...named to the California League mid-season All-Star Team...was called up to Tacoma for the remainder of the season on July 17...had a .987 fielding percentage in 50 games at second base.

1999

Made pro debut with Everett...was 4x6 with 2 doubles, HR, 4 runs, 3 RBI in pro debut vs. Yakima...was 2x5 in next game with HR and 3 RBI...broke hamate bone in left hand and was on disabled list from Aug. 6 through the end of the season...despite limited playing time, led AquaSox in steals.
