Was born locally in Mountain View, CA, the same city where Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford and Giants starter Logan Webb were born. Will be one of many players in camp that grew up in the Bay Area, joining Crawford, Haniger, Pederson and Webb. Was teammates with current Giants outfielder Mitch Haniger at Archbishop Mitty High School in nearby San Jose. The two played high school baseball together for all four years. Hildenberger played his college baseball at Cal, tying a Cal-Berkeley single-season record with 10 saves as a senior in 2014. He was 3-3 with a 2.83 ERA as a senior, earning honorable mention All-Pac 12 honors. Was teammates with Marcus Semien during his freshman and redshirt sophomore seasons at Cal (2010 and 2011). Growing up in the South Bay, Hildenberger grew up a Giants fan and would attend games at Candlestick Park with his dad. His dad took him out of school for the Brian Johnson home run game at The Stick in 1997 and he was sitting in centerfield. He was also in attendance at Game 5 of the 2002 NLCS at Oracle Park when the Giants walked off the Cardinals to advance to the World Series. His favorite player growing up was Barry Bonds while his favorite pitchers were Shawn Estes and Jason Schmidt. Trevor and his wife, Kristine, have two children: a daughter, Miya (born in 2020) and a son, Calvin (born last November). Is a fan of Formula 1 racing. His favorite driver is Lewis Hamilton and his favorite race team is Mercedes.
2022
Only appeared in six games in the Giants Minor League system last season due to injury... Opened the year on the IL after missing the final month of the 2021 season at Triple-A Sacramento due to right elbow flexor surgery on Sept. 1, 2021... Made his first game appearance of 2022 with the ACL Giants Black on Aug. 5, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning... Did not pitch again in game action until he joined Low-A San Jose on Sept. 11...made his only appearance there that day... Made his final four appearances of 2022 with Triple-A Sacramento.
2020
Signed with the Red Sox as a minor league free agent before the season, but did not pitch due to the cancellation of the minor league season.
2019
Made the Twins' Opening Day roster for the 2nd straight season...Did not allow a run in his first 11 appearances (3/31- 4/21, 7.2 IP)...Optioned to Triple-A Rochester on 5/16...Appeared in 9 games for the Red Wings (8.44 ERA, 10 ER/10.2 IP) prior to being placed on the IL with a right elbow strain on 6/15...Made 3 appearances on rehab assignment with the GCL Twins in August...Reinstated from the IL on 8/20...Threw 8.1 scoreless IP for Rochester from 8/20-9/2...Recalled by the Twins on 9/3...Made 3 appearances from that date through the end of the season.

Made Twins Opening Day roster for first time in career...Posted 18.0 consecutive scoreless innings from May 23-June 28, second-longest for a Twin on the season (Taylor Rogers - 26.0)...Did not allow a home run in 24 consecutive appearances from May 23-July 21 (25.2 IP)...Got majority of save opportunities after Twins traded Fernando Rodney August 9...went 7-for-9 in save situations from that point forward...seven saves from August 1 to end of season ranked tied for 10th in AL...Posted a 4.24 ERA (40.1 IP, 19 ER) in 40 home games and 6.89 ERA (32.2 IP, 25 ER) in 33 away games...Held left-handed hitters to a .255 average and right-handers to a .269 average. Led club in games (73) and tied with Taylor Rogers for first in holds (18).Tied for fourth in the AL in games (73).

Began season with Triple-A Rochester...Appeared in 21 games overall for the Red Wings, going 1-0, 1.54 ERA (23.1 IP, 4 ER) with five saves in final 15 games from May 3-June 21...Contract selected by Minnesota June 23 (Wimmers, designated)...Made major league debut June 23 at Cleveland, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning, striking out the first batter he faced (Roberto Pérez); did not allow a run in first four appearances (7.1 IP)...Earned first major league win July 7 vs. Baltimore, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings... Became one of Minnesota's primary set-up men from early August through the end of the season...Earned first career save August 13 at Detroit, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts...
