In 2005 graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta, CA, where as a senior he went 8-3, 1.13 with 113 strikeouts...his grandfather, Bob Bell, spent 25 years on Chicago television as Bozo the Clown.
2013
Joined the organization in May and in 30 relief apps at Class AA Pensacola and Class AAA Louisville went 1-1, 1.80 and led all Reds minor league pitchers with 17 saves (19 chances)...ranked T5th in the International League in saves...was released by the Tigers during spring training...on 5/20 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract and reported to Pensacola...became a free agent following the season but in December was re-signed to a minor league deal that included an invitation to 2014 Major League spring training camp.
2012
Assigned to Triple A Salt Lake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization to begin the 2012 season.
