Made stops at four different levels in the Blue Jays organization, culminating with a September 7
call to Toronto. Combined to go 7-4 with a 1.88 ERA (76.2 IP/16 ER) in 15 starts after undergoing
his second "Tommy John" operation on June 24, 200 ... Made four rehab starts with the Gulf Coast Blue Jays, posting a 3-0 record and 0.41 ERA (22.0 IP/1
ER). In his first professional start since April 25, 2009 vs. Pittsburgh, held the Gulf Coast Tigers to
one run on five hits with five strikeouts over 5.0 innings on July 8 ... Held GCL opponents scoreless over his final three starts (17.0 IP), surrendering just 13 hits with one
walk and 16 strikeouts in that span ... He was returned from rehab and reinstated from the DL on July 29, earning a promotion to single-
A Dunedin that same day ... Made his only start with Dunedin on the 29th, limiting Fort Myers to two runs on seven hits with five
strikeouts over 6.0 innings ... Promoted to double-A New Hampshire on August 3. Started the next day, earning the win versus
Richmond. Held the Flying Squirrels scoreless over 7.0 innings, allowing three hits and two
walks while striking out four ... Transferred to triple-A Las Vegas on August 10 and made four starts with the 51's before landing
on the DL with a right elbow strain on August 26. Prior to going on the DL, went 1-2 with a 4.20
ERA (15.0 IP/7 ER) ... He was reinstated on September 4 and held Portland scorelss on two hits with two walks and four
strikeouts over 6.0 innings that same day ... Had his contract selected on September 7 and made his season debut on September 9 vs.
Texas. He became the 15th Canadian to appear in a game for the Blue Jays and seventh pitcher
in Club history ... Earned his first win on September 23 vs. Seattle, tossing 5.0 shutout innings with seven strikeouts.
Made a total of four starts with the Jays, producing a 1-2 record and 2.61 ERA.
2009
Appeared in three April contests for the San Diego Padres, posting a 1-1 record with a 5.25 ERA...
Picked up the win in his first start vs. SF allwoing two runs in five innings... SURGERY: Was placed on the DL with right
elbow inflammation on April 26, then on June 24, 2009 underwent his second Tommy John surgery and was disabled for
the balance of the season.
2008
Endured rough season that included two DL stints and season-ending right-elbow surgery... Jumped back into the
Nationals rotation in mid-April after beginning 2008 on the DL... Was placed on the 15-Day DL (right forearm extensor
tenosynovitis), March 20... Entered Spring Training considered the front runner to start the Nationals' season opener...
However, did not pitch in an official Grapefruit League contest... Had a season-ending right-elbow scope performed by
Dr. James Andrews, September 5 in Pensacola, FL... The procedure removed bone spurs but required no reconfiguration
of UCL ligament... In 5 starts at Nationals Park, posted 3 quality starts en route to a 3.86 ERA... In finest start of season,
April 30 vs. ATL, did not garner a decision despite allowing one run in 8.0 innings in Washington's eventual 12-inning victory...
Season's lone win came on June 13 at SEA... Pitched in 2 rehab starts-one apiece with Columbus of the Triple-A
International League and Potomac of the Single-A Carolina League-going a combined 1-0 with a 4.09 ERA.
2007
In most comprehensive big league campaign to date, was Washington's top starting pitcher going 4-5 with a 3.42
ERA, but was limited to 16 starts due to injuries to left shoulder (partially torn labrum) and right forearm (compressed
radial nerve)...among those throwing more than 81.0 innings, led the Nationals with a 3.42 ERA...posted team-high 11
quality starts in 16 assignments (69%)...among those making at least 15 starts, quality start percentage (69 percent)
ranked 13th in MLB (8th in the NL)...allowed 3 earned runs or less in 14 of 16 starts, including 11 with 2 runs or less...
posted a batting average against (.235) that would have ranked 7th in the NL with enough innings to qualify...posted a
2.0/1 ground ball-to-fly ball ratio (165 gb, 83 fb) that would have ranked 6th in the NL with enough innings to qualify...on
August 24 at COL, squared off against LHP Jeff Francis (Vancouver, BC) in first matchup of Canadian-born starting
pitchers since July 1, 2000, when FLA (RHP Ryan Dempster) visited Montreal (RHP Mike Johnson)...fanned 5 and
did not walk a batter in 7.0 spectacular innings, allowing just one run on 4 hits...left in line for the win, but received a
no-decision as Washington's 'pen squandered a 5-1 lead in the 9th...endured an 11-week (May 12-Aug. 14) stay on
the 15-Day DL due to right elbow soreness, which was a byproduct of a left-shoulder strain sustained while running the
bases, April 20 at FLA...reaggravated the shoulder injury while covering first base, May 11 at FLA...had 2 successful
surgeries during the off-season (non-throwing shoulder by Dr. James Andrews, October 11 in Birmingham, AL and
decompression of radial nerve in right forearm by Dr. Ben Shaffer and Dr. Richard Barth at DC's Sibley Hospital, Sept.
26).
Game-By-Game Highlights: Garnered first road win of career with strong performance (2 ER in 7.0 IP) in a 6-2 victory
on April 14 at NYM...fired 5.0 no-hit innings, but left with right-elbow soreness, May 11 vs. FLA (was placed on
the 15-Day DL on May 14, retroactive to May 12, with a left shoulder strain)...after missing nearly 3 months, returned
to the mound on August 14 vs. PHI and worked 6.0 one-hit scoreless innings...walked one, struck out a career-best 7
and the only hit allowed was a bloop single by Aaron Rowand that should have been caught.
In Minor Leagues: In 3 rehab starts (2 with Potomac of the Single-A Carolina League, one with Columbus of the
Triple-A International League), posted .167 batting average against en route to a 1.50 ERA, July 30-Aug. 9.

Returned to the mound in 2006, making 6 big league starts with Washington, after missing the entire 2005 season because
of "Tommy John" ligament replacement surgery...made solid impression despite not being a member of the Nationals' big
league camp during spring training...did not, however, pitch in the big leagues after June 28 due to right elbow soreness...visited Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL, but an exam revealed no structural damage to the elbow...recorded quality
start in each of first 4 assignments...walked more than 2 batters just once in 6 big league assignments (3 walks on June 11
vs. PHI)...pitched on FOX Saturday Afternoon Baseball on May 27 vs. LAD...dazzled, but did not get a decision in game
eventually won by LAD, 3-1...went pitch for pitch with Derek Lowe, allowing one run on 5 hits...walked 2, struck out 3...left
with the game tied, 1-1...start was first at the Major League level since having UCL reconstructive surgery in September of
2004...dazzled in next assignment, allowing just 2 hits (both from Ryan Howard) in 7.0 shut-out innings in a 6-0 blanking of
PHI, June 11 at RFK...walked 3 and struck out 4 to garner 2nd win of career, first since July 4, 2004 vs. TOR...allowed only
2 homers in 36.2 innings...did not allow a run in the first inning...went 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA (4 ER/20.0 IP) in 3 starts at RFK...when toeing the rubber, Washington went 1-5.
Game-By-Game Highlights: Posted quality start, June 16 vs. NYY, in front of 44,749 fans in first career start against
the Bronx Bombers...allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 6.0 innings, but NYY rallied to win, 7-5.
In Minor Leagues: Made 2 rehab starts with Harrisburg in the Double-A Eastern League, August 2 vs. Altoona
and August 11 at Reading, going 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA (2 ER/6.0 IP)...however, elbow soreness persisted, and as a
precaution, was shut down thereafter for the remainder of the season...was 3-2 with a 2.64 ERA (13 ER/44.1 IP) in 8
starts for Harrisburg prior to having contract purchased by the Nationals...was Harrisburg's Opening Day starter.

Hill had a short stint with the Expos before joining the Canadian baseball team in the Olympics. After returning from the Olympics, Hill had Tommy John surgery and is not expected to pitch again until late next season.

12 games for the second straight year...was 9-4 with a 2.56 ERA in 22 games - 21 starts - at the A level, posting a 1.44

Was a mid-season Midwest League All-Star with Single-A Clinton... Won career-best 12 games and set career highs
with 146.2 innings and 99 K's...allowed one or no runs in 13 of his 25 starts... Was 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA in April... Was the
Lumberkings' Pitcher of the Month in May (4-1, 2.60 ERA)... Went 7-1 with a 2.43 ERA (15 ER/55.2 IP) in 10 starts through
May 31... Was winless in five starts in Aug. despite a 2.86 ERA... Ended season on the DL (strained right rhomboid).
2001
Made only 7 starts with Vermont of the short-season Single-A New York-Penn League, going 2-2 with a 2.27 ERA
while limiting the opposition to a .172 batting average... Innings were limited by elbow pain... Was winless in his first 5
starts before earning wins in his last 2 with a combined 11.0 shutout innings, July 26 vs. Staten Island and July 31 at Utica.
