Spent the majority of the season with El Paso (AAA), where he set career highs in AVG (.316), OBP (.371), SLG (.455), hits (130), HR (11), RBI (66) and runs scored (69)… had his contract selected by SD on September 3, making his ML debut on Sept. 4 at ARI...His 130 hits tied with Michael Gettys for the ELP team lead...Hit .336 (130-for-411) at home and .295 (59-for-200) on the road...His lowest AVG in a calendar month was .280 in May…hit .322 in April, .420 in June, .309 in July and .283 in August...Logged his 1st ML hit on Sept. 11 vs. CHC…hit his 1st ML HR on Sept. 18 at MIL...Appeared in 14 games and made 6 starts (2 at 1B, 2 at SS and 2 at 3B)…in his 1st-career start on Sept. 11 vs. CHC, he started at 1B…in his 2nd-career start, he started at SS, and in his 3rd-career start, he started at 3B…he became the 5th player in Padres history to have started at 3 different positions in their 1st 3 career ML starts, all with SD, joining Jorge Velandia (1997), Gary Matthews Jr. (1999), Edgar Gonzalez (2008) and Callix Crabbe (2008)...Mejias-Brean and Velandia are the only Padres to make such starts in only infield positions...On Sept. 22 vs. ARI, he had a career-high 3-hit game and hit a walk-off HR in the 10th, which was the Padres 5th (and last) walk-off win of the season...Both of his HR and all 5 of his RBI came vs. RHP, against which he had a .571 SLG…had a .333 SLG vs. LHP.

Mejias-Brean (pronounced: meh-HE-as BREEN) split the season between Tacoma (AAA) and Arkansas (AA), hitting 10 HR and logging 56 RBI in 129 games, en route to being named a SEA Organization All-Star by MiLB.com...After being promoted to TAC on 5/15, hit .266 (93-for-350) and owned a .348 OBP with 42 BB...logged the sixth-most hits (93) and RBI (44) on the club...His .336 OBP between the teams was his highest since he posted a .352 OBP in 2015 with Pensacola (AA)...Started all 119 games in which he played (all at 3B), and his 1,038.0 innings played were the second-most he's logged in a season (1,152.0 in 2014)...His SEA MiLB.com Organization All-Star honor was the third time he's received such an award (2013-14 with CIN).

Began the season with Louisville (AAA) and was acquired by SEA from CIN on May 1...split the remainder of the season between TAC and ARK, owning a .328 OBP between the 3 clubs, accruing 32 BB.
