NEW ORLEANS: Began the year with the Zephyrs, going 0-5 with a 6.15 ERA (23 ER/33.2 IP) in 7 games/starts...lost each of his final 5 outings there...Pacific Coast League opponents batted .295 (41-139) with 17 walks, 19 strikeouts, and 3 home runs...last start at Triple-A was May 17, followed by stints off the active roster... during his first DL stint with New Orleans, made a pair of rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast Marlins, going 1-0 with 4.0 shutout innings in 2 games/one start June 24 and 27.
JUPITER: Was transferred to Jupiter (High-A) on June 29, where he pitched strictly in relief, this after having been a starter most of his career...went 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA (20 ER/30.0 IP) in 23 relief outings, converting 6 of 11 save chances...allowed just 2 of 9 inherited runners to score...did not allow a home run, but had more walks (24) than strikeouts (18)...opponents batted .341 (15-44) with runners in scoring position.
TRANSACTIONS: Was acquired on the same day that the Rangers posted a win in Game 1 of the ALDS at Tampa Bay, Oct. 6...was outrighted off the Rangers' 40-man roster on Dec. 13 after clearing waivers.

Missed majority of the season due to injury. Made two starts with triple-A New Orleans prior to
landing on the Disabled List with inflammation in his left knee...Went 1-1 with a 17.36 ERA (4.2 IP/9 ER) prior to his first DL stint...Had two rehab starts with rookie-level Gulf Coast Marlins, going 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA...Was reinstated from the DL on July 25 and made two starts with Zephyrs before heading to the
DL again. Went 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA (11.0 IP/5 ER) in his starts...Placed on the DL on August 3 with a strained oblique and missed the remainder of the season.
