Began the season at Kinston, hitting .340 (48-141) over the first two months of the season. He had nine home runs and 24 RBIs in 41 games ... Church had a pair of homers on May 11 at Potomac, and he went 4-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI on May 23 at Myrtle Beach ... He was promoted to Akron on June 14.
