Claimed off waivers by the Yankees from the Cleveland Indians on 1/4…was with the Yankees until he was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles on 2/5…played in 86G for Triple-A Norfolk, where he batted .276 (89-for-323) with 15 doubles, 1 triple, 11HR, 49RBI and 46R…hit .415 and slugged .815 vs. LHP (27-for-65, 7HR) while playing for the Tides…homered in three consecutive games from 4/8-10…also homered in back-to-back games on 4/28-29 and 5/13-14…had 25 multi-hit games…traded by the Orioles to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Tim Alderson on 7/12… played in 39G for Triple-A Indianapolis and hit .194 (25-for-129) with 3XBH. 

2012

Batted .269 (25-93) with 3 doubles, 3 HR and 11 RBI in 26 games (11 starts in LF, seven at 1B and six at DH) as a September call-up for CLE ... Hit safely in 16 of his 26 contests with CLE, including six of his first seven games with an at-bat ... Went 3-for-4 and hit his first Major League home run on 9/7 at Target Field, a two-run shot off MIN's Liam Hendriks ... Drove in a career-high three runs in the contest and established a career high in hits ... Homered in back-to-back games, 9/24-25 @CWS ... Tied his career high with 3H, 9/25 ... 2011

Was named International League MVP at Triple-A Durham in 2011...Hit .356 (63-177) w/17 2B, 8HR & 30 RBI in 47 second half games (1.034OPS). He went on to make his Major League debut for Tampa after a September 11th call up and went 1-for-3 in 3 games (1RBI, 1BB) as a pinch-hitter...Made his major league debut on Sept. 15 at Boston and drew a walk...On Sept. 22 at NYY recorded his first major league hit, a single off Aaron Laffey...Got his first RBI that same day on a sac fly in the 8th inning. The International League midseason and postseason All-Star led the IL in doubles (40) and slugging pct. (.530), finished tied for second in runs (78), third in hits (149), fourth in the IL in batting average (.314), fifth in RBI (83) and second in on-base pct. (.401) and total bases (251)...Appeared in 41 games in right field, 33 games in left, 40 games at third base and 17 games at first. He hit .321 (42-131) off left-handed pitching and .312 (107-343) off RHP...Signed by Tampa Bay as a minor league free agent prior to the 2011 campaign...He was designated for assignment on January 27th after the Rays signed INF Jeff Keppinger.

2010

Ranked 2nd in the Southern League with 21 HR for Double-A Tennessee (Cubs) while batting .287 (102-for-355) with 66 RBI in 112 games played at 3B, 1B, RF and LF...in June hit .414 (24-for-58) with 5 HR and 13 RBI in 22 games...recorded 31 multi-hit games.

2009

Started the season with a 15-game hitting streak at Class-A Daytona and was promoted to Tennessee on May 11...at Tennessee hit .299 (49-for-164) against righthanders and .159 (11-for-69) against lefties...batted .333 (25-for-75) with RISP

2008

Hit 9 of his 12 HR after the All-Star break...batted .342 (38-for-111) against lefties and .237 (51-for-215) against righties...went 4-for-5 with 2 HR and 7 RBI on Aug 2 vs. Vero Beach.
