Led all National League shortstops with 22 home runs (4 more than ATL's Jose Hernandez), and 78 RBI (3 ahead of CIN's Barry Larkin)...finished season with 80 RBI total, collecting 78 as shortstop and 2 as pinch hitter in final game, Oct. 2 at Colorado...by collecting 80th RBI Oct. 2, became final member of Giants' 1st 80-RBI quintet in franchise history (both NY and SF)...other members of record-setting group included Jeff Kent (101), J.T. Established himself as front-line Major League shortstop, starting 106 games...ranked 3rd among N.L. shortstops in fielding percentage, posting .979 mark (476 total errors, 10 chances) in 119 games...also ranked 5th in RBI with 49 while his .266 average was good for 6th place tie among shortstops...posted 1st career multi-HR contest May 3 at Atlanta...was on disabled list July 4-19 due to strained groin muscle.

Served as reserve shortstop for Giants, appearing with club entire season except 10-day period July 17-26...began season on Opening Day roster for 1st time...made 22 starts with SF (all at SS), going 18-for-77 (.234) with 3 HRs and 11 RBI...was sent to triple-A Phoenix when Bill Mueller was activated from DL and club retained 12 pitchers...was on Giants' post season roster for Division Series vs. Florida, but did not make appearance in 3-game sweep by Marlins...played for San Juan in Puerto Rico Winter League after playoffs.

Spent almost full season with Giants after starting year at Phoenix...saw extensive playing time at shortstop due to Shawon Dunston's injuries...appeared in 93 games at SS, making 71 starts...also played in 11 games at 2B with 9 starts...was recalled from Phoenix April 13, taking roster spot of disabled Robby Thompson...made 1st Major League appearance at 2B May 31 at Montreal...had his season ended prematurely when he was placed on 60-day Disabled List Sept. 24 with stress fracture of lower back.

Rose through ranks in 1st year with Giants' organization, seeing action at 3 different levels...started year at double-A Shreveport before rising to Phoenix and capping season with 1st call-up to majors...had his contract purchased from Phoenix Sept. 5...made ML debut as defensive replacement at SS Sept. 6 vs. Montreal...drew 1st big league start Sept. 28 at Colorado (at SS) and made it night of firsts, with his 1st ML hit (single in 2nd off Bryan Rekar), his 1st RBI (double in 6th) and 1st HR (off Lance Painter in 9th)...prior to recall, had split time between Phoenix and Shreveport...named starting SS on Texas League Mid-Season All-Star team with Shreveport...following season, spent 3rd winter in Arizona Fall League playing for Scottsdale Scorpions.

Completed 1st year at double-A level, spending campaign with Rangers' Texas League affiliate at Tulsa...posted career high in home runs, drilling 12...hit .234 but drove in 57 runs in 129 contests...completed his 2nd winter in Arizona Fall League, hitting .250 with 13 RBI for Tucson Javelinas.
