He and his wife, Samantha, make their off-season home in Houston...pitched one season at Okaloosa Walton Community College in Niceville, Fla...played baseball and soccer at Cardozo High School in Bayside, NY...selected as New York public school baseball player of year in 1993...participated in Little League and Babe Ruth League programs...favorite team growing up was the New York Mets and favorite player was Len Dykstra...drafted by Boston in the sixth round of the June 1993 free agent draft and signed by scout Matthew Sczesny.
