Split the season between Miami and San Diego, posting a combined 4-5 record with a 4.04 ERA (32 ER, 71.1 IP) and 53 strikeouts against 31 walks in 18 games, 14 starts total...Posted career bests overall on the season in several categories, including starts (14), ERA (4.04), opponents average (.262) and strikeouts (53)...Began the season with Triple-A New Orleans in the Marlins organization where he made 14 starts before having his contract selected by Miami on 6/19…made two starts for the Marlins before being acquired by the Padres off waivers on 6/28...In his 16 games, 12 starts, for San Diego he went 3-5 with a 3.67 ERA (25 ER, 61.1 IP) and 47 strikeouts against 23 walks...His first three outings with the Padres came in relief from 7/4 - 7/8 before making a spot start in a doubleheader on 7/20 at STL…made one more relief appearance after that on 7/26 before transitioning full-time to the rotation on 7/31 for the remainder of the season...In his 11 starts from 7/31 through the remainder of the year he went 3-4 with a 3.76 ERA (22 ER, 52.2 IP) and 39 strikeouts against 18 walks...Had his best month of the season in September when he went 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA (6 ER, 19.2 IP) in four starts...Worked a season-high 6.0 innings in his final start of the year on 10/2 at ARI, the Padres last game of the year, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out a career-high seven batters.

Combined to go 2-5 with 5.73 ERA (31 ER, 48.2 IP) in 17 appearances among four teams in both Philadelphia and Kansas City systems...Opened season as member of Triple-A Lehigh Valley starting rotation, going 0-1 with 5.48 ERA (14 ER, 23.0 IP) in five starts before landing on seven-day DL with right ankle sprain on 5/7..Season high of 6.0 innings pitched came in first start of season, 5/13 vs. Syracuse...allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts and one wild pitch...Returned from DL on 6/16 and made one relief appearance with Single-A Clearwater before being transferred back to Lehigh Valley on 6/17...Released by PHI on 6/25 and signed by KC on 8/2...reported to Triple-A Omaha, where in five games went 2-1 with 2.57 ERA (2 ER/7.0 IP). Transferred to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on 8/18, and in five games (three starts), was 0-1 with one save and 7.47 ERA (13 ER, 15.2 IP). In first two appearances with Northwest Arkansas, recorded consecutive 3.0 inning relief outings. In first appearance, 8/19 at San Antonio, limited Missions to one hit and secured only save opportunity of season...After the season, made four starts in five appearances with Tiburones de La Guaira of Venezuelan Winter League...had 0-2 record and 4.86 ERA (9 ER, 16.2 IP).

Made five different stints with the Astros, making 13 relief appearances and posting a 0-1 record with a 5.84 ERA (16 ER, 24.2 IP). Made 14 relief appearances and five starts for Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 6-3 record with a 4.08 ERA (21 ER, 46.1 IP) with 41 strikeouts against 23 walks.
