2004

Mike appeared in 48 games in his second season with the Cubs and went 1-2 with 13 holds, 2 saves and a 3.44 ERA...opposing batters hit .246 against him...limited right-handed batters to a .191 average (13-68)...allowed runs in just 10 of his 48 outings...had a 10.2-scoreless innings streak July 19-August 17...it was his longest such streak of the season...worked at least 1.0 inning in 24 of his appearances, posting a 1.42 ERA in those games...earned 2 saves and 7 holds in such contests...surrendered 5 runs in 0.1 innings in an outing June 9th against the Cardinals...posted a 2.23 ERA in 47 remaining games...had two stints on the disabled list...opened the season on the 15-day DL as he rehabilitated from left shoulder surgery...was activated May 22...returned to the 15-day DL June 24 with left shoulder tendinitis and was activated July 11...picked up his first save in nearly three years on August 14 vs. Los Angeles...combined on a 5-hit 2-0 shutout with starter Kerry Wood...picked up his second save for the Cubs just over a month after earning his first, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning in a 1-0 defeat of Pittsburgh on September 22...was the winning pitcher September 24 as the Cubs defeated New York (NL) 5-4 in 10 innings...entered the game in the bottom of the 9th inning with a runner on, but struck out Karim Garcia to send the game to extra innings.

recorded his first M.L. hit August 30, an infield single off Florida's Kevin Brown.

1995

Was on a big league Opening Day roster for the first time, breaking camp with the Mets ... after pitching in 5 games, though, he was traded to Cincinnati May 11.

after making 2 relief appearances for the Reds, his contract was outrighted to Indianapolis (AAA) May 25 ... spent the rest of the year at the Triple-A level, going 5-3 with a 4.05 ERA in 41 games (1 start).

1994

Made 22 total appearances (18 starts) for the Mets and their Norfolk (AAA) club.

was 2-4 with a 3.14 ERA in 12 games (9 starts) for Norfolk before joining the Mets June 15.
