Full name is Michael Patrick (Mike) O'Connor...graduated from Mount St. Joseph's High (MD),where he was teammates with Mark Teixeira and Chicago White Sox's Gavin Floyd...named All-County and All-Metro while at Mount St. Joseph...graduated from George Washington University in 2002 where he was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First team as a senior...became the first pitcher from GW to reach the Majors...was originally selected by the Montreal Expos in the seventh round of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft.
2011
Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Buff alo, going 5-5 with one save and a 5.22 ERA (60.1IP, 35ER) in 39 relief appearances... was signed by the Mets to a Major League contract and selected from Buffalo on 5/4... had nine outings out of the bullpen, going 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA (6.2IP, 2ER and 8K)...held righthanders to a .083 (1-for-12) batting average... posted a career-best 6.2 scoreless innings streak over his first seven appearances from 5/7-24.

Split the season between four different clubs...Started the year with Harrisburg (AA) of the Eastern League...Made three starts before being recalled to Syracuse (AAA) of the International League...Made his first start with the Chiefs on April 29 and made 11 appearances, seven starts at Syracuse...Traded to San Diego and joined Portland (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League...Started his first game for the Beavers on June 19 at Las Vegas...Released on July 10 and signed with Kansas City on August 10...Made six appearances, five starts for Omaha (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.

Washington selected his contract from Columbus (AAA) of the International League on April 24...With the major league club until May 10 and pitched in five games, one start, over that frame...Picked up the win on April 24 vs. New York (NL), his first major league victory since June 8, 2006 vs. Philadelphia...Allowed nine earned runs and issued six walks in 3.1 innings in his only start on May 10 vs. Florida...Optioned to Columbus for the rest of the season...Went 5-3 with a 2.17 ERA in 16 starts with Columbus...Among those to work at least 80.0 innings, paced all Washington farmhands in ERA at 2.14 ERA...Went 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA in seven starts in April and May...Spent June 19-July 26 on the DL with left shoulder strain...Made one rehab start with the GCL Nationals on July 22...Rejoined the Clippers on July 27.

Went 8-8 with a 4.11 ERA in 26 games (14 starts) with Single-A Brevard County... posted a 5-6 record and a 3.88 ERA as a starter and 3-2 with a 4.65 ERA as a reliever... allowed two earned runs or less in nine of his 14 starts.
