In 1st season in BOS organization, made his big league debut and appeared in 37 games over 4 stints with the Sox...Also played in 100 games with Triple-A Pawtucket and earned International League MVP honors, the 7th PawSox to receive the honor. With the Sox, played 16 games at 1st base (13 GS), 9 games at 3rd base (6 GS), and 7 at DH (4 GS). Went 2-for-3 (.667) with 3 RBI with the bases loaded...Hit .423 with RISP (11-for-26), the 2nd-best mark in the majors among batters with at least 25 PA in those situations (ARI's Willie Bloomquist, .435)...Tallied a .405 clip (17-for-42) with runners on, tops in the ML among players with at least 40 PA with runners on. Tallied a .315 clip (17-for-54) off ML right-handers, with both homers and 12 of 17 RBI coming off righties. On 9/7 vs. TOR, his 28th birthday, went 2-for-2 with his 2nd career homer and a career-high-tying 3 RBI after pinch-hitting in the 7th...Was the 1st Red Sox with a pinch-hit on his birthday since Juan Beniquez on 5/13/75 at OAK and the 1st Sox with a pinch-hit RBI on his birthday since Mickey Vernon on 4/22/57 vs. BAL. Played 100 games for Pawtucket and led the International League in SLG (.589) and HR/AB ratio (16.13)... Also placed among IL leaders in AVG (2nd, .310), XBH (2nd, 59), homers (T-3rd, 24), doubles (T-3rd, 34), RBI (5th, 74), and total bases (5th, 228)...Appeared in 52 tilts at 1st base, 9 at 3rd, and 39 at DH for the PawSox. Joined Jim Rice (1974), Ted Cox (1977), Gary Allenson (1978), Dave Stapleton (1979), Pat Dodson (1986), and Jeff Bailey (2008) as the only players in PawSox franchise-history to earn IL MVP honors. Tabbed the starting DH on IL All-Star team but did not play in Triple-A All-Star Game on 7/11 due to call-up. After the season, played in 50 games for Leones del Escogido in the Dominican Winter League and hit .242 (44-for-182) with a league-best 38 RBI, 30 walks, and 33 runs...Ranked 3rd among league leaders with 8 home runs...Helped the team win the league's championship with a circuit-best 6 homers and 17 RBI in 22 playoff games.

Combined to bat .284 (73-for-257) with 17 doubles, 7 homers and 39 RBI over 70 games between Bakersfield and the Rookie-level Arizona League...Started the season at Bakersfield and batted .280 (14-for-50) with 3 doubles and 9 RBI over 13 games before landing on the DL on 5/10... Played an 11-game rehab stint with the AZL Rangers from 6/22-7/4, with hits in 10 of those contests, and was reinstated on 7/6...Finished the year in 46 games for the Blaze.
