•Graduated from St. Sebastian's School in Needham, Mass. in 2007, leading his team to the Independent School League title...was named to the 2007 Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team and was also named the ISL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year...hit .542 with seven homers and 21 RBI while also posting a 5-0 record on the mound.
•Attended the University of Vermont for two years (2008-09) before transferring tothe University of Tennessee in 2010...as a freshman at Vermont, was an America East Conference (AEC) All-Rookie selection and received Louisville Slugger All-Freshman All-American honors...named to the AEC All-Championship Team in the postseason.
•As a sophomore at Vermont, earned America East Player of the Year honors after leading the conference in batting average (.338), RBI (57), runs (57), slugging (.713) and on-base percentage (.495)...his 13 homers tied a school record while his RBI and runs scored total set new Vermont records...was one of 38 finalists named to the Brooks Wallace National Shortstop of the Year Watch List.
•Transferred to Tennessee in 2010 and hit.308 (122x396) with 32 doubles, 10 homers, 81 RBI and an .876 OPS (.406 OBP/.470 SLG) in his two years with the Vols.
•Was selected by Houston in the 20th round of the 2011 draft...signed by Astros scout Nick Venuto.
•Is currently signed to a one-year contract for the 2016 season...added to the Astros 40-man roster in September of 2015

Spent the entire minor league regular season with Triple A Fresno and earned his first career Major League call-up in September...while at Fresno, was named the MVP of the Pacific Coast League after leading the league in runs scored (94), while batting .294 (144x490) with 29 doubles, two triples, 20 homers, 104 RBI and an .850 OPS (.366 OBP/.484 SLG)...became the fourth minor leaguer in Astros history to win the award, and the first since RHP Donne Wall did so in 1995 with the Tucson Toros...began his season as a non-roster invitee at Major League Spring Training, appearing in 11 games for the Astros in March...posted a .222 (2x9) average with a solo homer and was reassigned to minor league camp on March 20...in addition to his MVP Award, was also named a PCL Postseason All-Star, making him an All-Star in five consecutive minor league seasons...played only third base (75g) and first base (33g) at Fresno and made 23 appearances as the Grizzlies DH...hit .318 (50x157) with six homers, 37 RBI and a .942 OPS against lefties at Triple A...was named the Grizzlies June Player of the Month after hitting .298 (31x104) with four doubles,three homers, 24 RBI and a .369 on-base percentage in 27 games during the month...played in the first round of the PCL playoffs and helped the Grizzlies advance to the PCL Championship Series before being selected to the Major League roster on Sept. 14...would appear in eight games for the Astros, hitting .375(3x8) with a double and three RBI...recorded his first Major League hit on Sept. 19 vs. OAK (RBI-double as a pinch-hitter)...became the first Astros player to record his first career Major League hit in the pinch since Marc Krauss in 2013...on Oct. 2 at ARI, hit a two-run single that gave the Astros a new club record for most runs scored in a single game (21)...named to the Astros postseason roster for the AL Wild Card Game in New York, but did not see any action in the Astros win.
