Single ... Resides in Las Vegas, NV ... Is a 1987 graduate of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas where he played baseball, basketball and football ... Drafted by San Diego in 8th round out of high school but instead attended University of Nevada-Las Vegas before transferring to Orange Coast (CA) Junior College ... Took part in Orioles FanFest the last two winters.
2003
Was sidelined for most of the season, appearing in just 9 games for the Orioles, batting .233 with one home run and 4 RBI...Hit a game-tying, two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning against the Cleveland Indians on Opening Day...The Orioles went on to win the game, 6-5, in 13 innings...Missed the next 5 games with a strained lower back...Returned to the lineup on April 8 at Tampa Bay and reached base safely all 4 trips to the plate, with a single and 3 walks...Had 2 assists on April 9 at Tampa Bay, first time an O's outfielder had 2 assists in a game since Luis Matos accomplished the feat on September 19, 2001 at Toronto...Hit safely in each of his first 4 games of the season, going 5-for-12 (.417)...Went 2-for-18 in his final 5 games...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 23 and had arthroscopic surgery the next day to remove bone chips from his right elbow...Was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 19. wAttempted rehab with the team during the season before undergoing ligament reconstruction ("Tommy John") surgery on his right elbow on August 27, ending his season.
2002
Played 131 games in his first season with the Orioles, finishing 4th on the team with 18 home runs and tied for 3rd with 64 RBI.
Began the season on the 15-day disabled list with a strain of his right quadriceps... Was placed on DL on March 31, retro to March 28, and missed the first 8 games of the year...Was activated on April 12 and hit a home run that day at Chicago.
Hit safely in 19 of his first 22 games and his average reached a season-high .367 on May 5...Batted .231 (86-372) in his final 109 games after May 6.
Went 4-for-5 with a triple, 3 runs and 2 RBI on April 28 at Kansas City, matching his career-high in hits and runs...Went 13-for-28 (.464) with 2 home runs and 8 RBI in 7 games against the Royals.
Hit safely in 80 of 130 games with an at-bat on the season...Had a pair of 7-game hitting streaks, April 14-21 and April 24-May 1.
Batted .213 (33-155) from May 7 through the end of June...Rebounded to hit safely in 16 of 25 games in July, batting .281 (25-89) with 5 home runs...Had 3 hits with 2 doubles on July 4 at Anaheim and July 6 at Texas.
Had his 7th career 2-home run game on June 21 at San Francisco...Homered in consecutive games three times - May 3-4 against Kansas City, June 21-22 at San Francisco and July 30-31 at Tampa Bay.

2001
Spent the entire year at the big league level with the Cleveland Indians after making the club out of spring training as a spring invitee after Travis Fryman's elbow injury cleared a spot on the roster...Batted .442 with 2 home runs and 11 RBI in 26 spring training games to earn roster spot.
Spent the first two weeks of the season as a pinch-hitter before establishing himself as an everyday player in the Indians lineup in mid-April.
Made 105 starts on the year b 75 in left field, 23 in right field and 7 at DH...In his 105 starts, he hit .304 (119-391) with 19 HR and 66 RBI.
Overall, appeared in 83 games in left field, 30 in right field and 2 in CF...His June 4 appearance in CF at Minnesota was his first since September of 1995 while with the Twins.
Made his first start at DH on April 10 at Chicago, going 1-for-4 with his first HR off Jim Parque, then went 3-for-5 with 2 HR & 4 RBI on April 19 at Baltimore...Marked his 5th career 2-homer game and first since June 23, 1999 at Chicago's Comiskey Park.
Had 22-game hitting streak -- one shy of his career high -- April 22-May 18, batting .393 (35-89) with 5 HR and 22 RBI...It was the 2nd longest streak in the American League in 2001 behind Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki's 23 gamer.
Batted .268 (80-299) after the streak for the rest of the season, with 12 HR and 39 RBI in 92 games.

Spent the season with the Toronto Blue Jays after being released by the Boston Red Sox at the end of spring training...Was released by Boston on March 26 and signed the next day by the Blue Jays...Most of his playing time came in April and May, hitting .283 (34-120) over the first 2 months of the season with 2 HR & 11 RBI...Appeared in only 19 games in the second half (.179, 10-56, 6 RBI) and appeared in just 3 games from August 6 on, after Toronto acquired Dave Martinez...Batted just once in September, as a PH at Baltimore on Sept. 29...Played 8 straight games in April, hitting his first homer of the season off Orlando Hernandez on April 23, when Shannon Stewart was on the DL...Matched his career-high with his seventh 4-hit game on May 28 at Detroit...Hit .302 (19-63) during May with 1 HR & 5 RBI in 17 games...Hit his first career grand slam on July 16 against the New York Mets off Al Leiter...Started 14 of 15 games in right field in July after an elbow injury felled Raul Mondesib&On the year he made 52 starts, 21 in LF, 17 in RF and 14 as the DHb&Was designated for assignment on October 3 and elected free agency on Oct. 6.

Led the Twins in RBI (70) and hit-by-pitch (9) in his final season in Minnesota...Was also 2nd in doubles and home runs, was tied for 2nd in runs and sac flies (6) and was 3rd in batting, total bases (197) and walks...Enjoyed his 6th career 4-hit game, 4/8 vs. Toronto...Was 30-for-72 (.417) from 5/23 through 6/17...Had a season-high 9-game hitting streak, going 17-for-36 (.472), 5/23-6/1...Had a career-high 5 RBI on 6/23 at Chicago...Was 22-for-62 (.355), 8/2-8/28...Had a season-high 9 total bases, 8/28 vs. Kansas City...Batted .310 with 12 homers vs. right-handers and .206 with 2 homers vs. left-handers...Had a .927 fielding percentage (4I TC, 3 E)...Was 5-for-14 (.357) as a pinch-hitter...Granted free agency, 10/8 and signed with Boston as a non-roster invitee to spring training.
