2011
Led the Twins with six home runs and 15 rbi in Spring Training...optioned to Triple-A Rochester, March 27...Recalled from Triple-A Rochester prior to Red Wings opener, April 8, as Tsuyoshi Nishioka was placed on the 15-day disabled list...First career three-hit game, April 27 vs. Tampa Bay...hit his first home run of the season, April 29 at Kansas City...Optioned to Rochester, May 22...played in 10 games for the Red Wings, batting .167 (6-for-36), before being recalled June 3...Batted .414 (12-for-29) with three doubles and seven runs scored in an eight game span, June 3-12...Hit his second home run, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, June 28 vs. Los Angeles (NL)...hit his third home run, a three-run shot in the fourth inning, July 8 at Chicago (AL)...both homers were the deciding runs/game-winning runs in those respective games...Was optioned back to Rochester, July 22, before being recalled a week later, July 29...optioned back to Rochester, July 31...recalled August 18 and spent the rest of the season with the Twins...Recorded 12 rbi in a six-game span, August 27-September 2, including his first career two-homer game and career-high five rbi, August 28 vs. Detroit...Appeared in 86 games defensively, playing 37 games at second base (34 starts), 36 games at first base (30 starts) and 13 games at third base (12 starts).

Began the season at Triple-A Rochester....played in 13 games for the Red Wings before being recalled, April 24...Made Major League debut and homered off Max Scherzer in first career at-bat, April 28 at Detroit...became the fifth player in Twins history to homer in first Major League at-bat, and first since Andre David on 6/29/84...Hughes became the eighth Australian-born player to hit a homer in the Major Leagues and first to do it in his first Major League at-bat...Appeared in two games for the Twins, going 2-for-7 (.286 batting average) with a home run, one rbi and three strikeouts before being optioned to Rochester, May 1...After being optioned May 1, appeared in just nine more games with the Red Wings before missing the rest of the season with a Sports Hernia...Played in the Venezuelan Winter Leagues with Tigres de Aragua, batting .196 (10-for-51) in 15 games...played with Perth in the Australian Baseball League after the VWL, batting .337 (29-for-86) with seven doubles, one triple, five home runs, 13 rbi, 16 runs scored and 18 walks in 23 games.
2009
Played in the World Baseball Classic with the Australian team, batting .250 (3-for-12) with one home run, three rbi and three runs scored in three games...started the regular season with Triple-A Rochester...hit a two-run homer on Opening Day, April 9 at Syracuse...went 3-for-6 with two home runs, a triple and four rbi, April 25 vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three rbi, May 5 at Louisville...placed on the disabled list with a strained left oblique, June 11...batted .370 (10-for-27) with four home runs and 11 rbi vs. lefthanded pitching at Rochester...joined the GCL Twins for four games on a rehab assigment...reinstated July 7 and transferred to Double-A New Britain...collected two four-hit games with the Rock Cats, July 8 vs. Connecticut (three doubles) and August 6 at Erie...placed on the temporarily inactive list, September 5 until the end of the season to play with the Australian World Cup Team...had cyst removed from right wrist, December 10.

Began season at Double-A New Britain...hit safely in 29 of his first 32 games...named Twins' Minor League Player of the Week and the Eastern League Player of the Week, April 26-May 1, after going 13-for-32 (.406) with six home runs, nine runs scored and 10 rbi...hit .354 with eight home runs, 18 rbi, 35 hits and a .677 slugging percentage in 24 games in April...was named both the Twins' Minor League Player of the Month in April and Eastern League Player of the Month...had 17-game hitting streak, going 32-for-77 (.416), April 21-May 15...drove in three runs and went 3-for-4, May 25 at Portland...disabled with left groin strain, June 9-27...named to the 2008 Futures Game (World Team) where he started at third base and went 0-for-2, July 13 at New York...hit safely in each of his last seven games (10-for-25) with the Rock Cats before being promoted to Triple-A Rochester, July 31...made his first appearance for the Red Wings on July 31 and went 1-for-5...went 3-for-4 with a home run, two rbi and three runs scored, August 7 at Lehigh Valley...in just 29 games with the Red Wings, recorded 10 multi-hit games...started 26 games at third base...played in the Venezuelan Winter League for Tigres de Aragua...played third base and the outfield.

Spent entire season at Double-A New Britain...appeared in 92 games seeing time at first base, second base, third base and the outfield... went 4-for-4 with two rbi and two runs scored, May 9 at Harrisburg...hit safely in seven straight games, including six multi-hit games, June 3-12...during the seven games, he hit .739 (17-for-23)...named Eastern League Player of the Week, June 4-10...went 2-for-4 with two home runs, July 28 at New Hampshire...posted a .309 (30-for-97) batting average vs. lefties...hit .355 in 29 home games.
2006
Spent entire season at Single-A Ft. Myers...homered and drove in three runs in his first game of the season, April 6 at Sarasota...appeared in 95 games, including 82 at third base, nine at second base and one at first base.
2005
Began season at Single-A Beloit...had five multi-hit games in April, including three three-hit games...had a seven-game hitting streak, going 13-for-39 (.333), June 19-30...promoted to Single-A Ft. Myers, July 29...played for the Australian National Team in the 2005 World Cup, September 2-17...recorded his first hit (1-for-3) of the games, September 7 vs. Czech Republic...appeared in seven games going 1-for-15.
2004
Spent entire season at Rookie Level Elizabethton...started the season going 0-for-15 before going 10-for-his-next-25 (.400)...finished the year hitting .333 (21-for-63) over his final 18 games...appeared in 44 games, including 40 at second base and one at first base...recorded 13 multi-hit games, including two three-hit games.
