Luis spent the entire season with Gwinnett (AAA) in the Atlanta organization, serving as the Braves regular centerfielder and lead off man...Led the International League with 46 steals in 62 attempts...Following the season, batted .286 with 6 stolen bases and 19 walks in 32 games for Caribes in the Venezuelan Winter League.

2011

Spent the first half of the season with the San Diego Padres' Triple-A affiliate, Tucson Sidewinders. Hit .243 (43-for-177) with 10 stolen bases in 67 games. Placed on waivers by SD on 6/21...Claimed by the Houston Astros off waivers on 6/29 and was assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Played in 47 contests for the RedHawks batting .273 (42-for-154) with two doubles, nine RBI and 18 stolen bases...Appeared in two games for the Houston Astros on 8/1 and 8/2 (1-for-6, .167)...Hit .257 (85-for-331) with five doubles, four triples and 28 stolen bases between both Triple-A stops...Versatile outfielder made 100 appearances in the outfield, including 72 in centerfield, 24 in left field and four in right field...Had a season high four hits on 7/29 vs. NAS...Posted a two-steal game on 7/4 vs. IOW...Played in nine games (.233, 7-for-30, 1 2B) for Yaquis de Obregon of the Mexican Winter League.

2010

After starting the season with Triple-A Portland, made four stints with the Padres...appeared in 28 Major League games and 106 minor league games...Went 9-for-21 (.429) with a .500 on-base percentage in his first 11 ML games (5/25-8/22) and 3-for-27 (.111) with a .143 on-base percentage in his final 17 ML games (8/24-10/3)...Four of his 12 hits in 2010 were infield singles...nine of his 18 career hits have been infield singles...Appeared in 10 games in the field for San Diego, all in center field...made eight starts...recorded two outfield assists in his 10 games and now has three in 12 career outfield appearances...Led the Beavers with 35 stolen bases in 51 attempts...ranked sixth among all Triple-A players and third in the Pacific Coast League in steals.

Split the season between Double-A San Antonio and San Diego, making his Major League debut and appearing in nine Big League games...Recalled from Double-A San Antonio 9/14 and made Major League debut 9/15 vs. ARI as pinch hitter (0-for-1)...Switch-hitter batted .545 (6-for-11) with three runs scored and two stolen bases in nine games with the Padres...recorded first Major League hit and stolen base 9/16 vs. ARI. ... Optioned to Double-A San Antonio 3/17...hit .281 (128-for-456) with nine doubles, two triples, 25 RBI, 78 runs and 44 stolen bases in 129 games for Double-A San Antonio. ... Ranked among Texas League leaders in walks (2nd, 81), stolen bases (2nd, 44) and on-base percentage (3rd, .390). ... Began the season with Single-A Fort Wayne and played in 93 games with the Wizards...placed third among Midwest League batters with a .305 average (102-for-334) and .395 on-base percentage...With Fort Wayne, hit .344 (77-for-224) vs. right-handers compared to .227 (25-for-110) off lefties...batted .388 (45-for-116) when leading off an inning...In 22 July games, hit .384 (33-for-86)...Promoted to Lake Elsinore 8/13 for the rest of the season...tallied multiple hits in each of his first four games with the Storm, going 9-for-20 (.450)...finished with 11 multi-hit contests in 17 tilts with Lake Elsinore.

2007

Named the Most Valuable Player and Topps Player of the Year in the Northwest League, playing with the Short-A Eugene Emeralds...prior to the season, tabbed as the fastest base runner in the San Diego organization in Baseball America's Best Tools survey...Also selected to the Northwest League Post-Season and Baseball America Short-Season All-Star teams...Led the Northwest League in batting (.367) and hits (110), while finishing among league leaders in on-base percentage (3rd, .422), stolen bases (T-4th, 17), runs scored (3rd, 60) and triples (T-1st, 8)...Led all San Diego minor leaguers in average...his 110 hits established an Emeralds team record...Finished the season with a 33-game, home hit streak...hit safely in 34 of 35 home tilts overall (.391, 61-for-156)...Collected a 19-game hit streak 7/11-31 (.381, 32-for-84), the second longest in the NWL in 2007.

Led the Arizona League in batting (.378) and on-base percentage (.470) with Rookie-level Peoria...his batting average also led all San Diego minor leaguers...Named to the Arizona League Post-Season All-Star team...Tied for the Peoria team lead in triples (4) and stolen bases (17)...Hit .400 in June (8-for-20), .379 in July (22-for-58) and .369 in August (24-for-65)...Notched a season-high four hits 6/25 at the Royals...owned 16 multiple-hit efforts in 39 games.
