2006

Injury-plagued season for Larry as he missed most of the season (135 days) on the disabled list...Missed the final 10 Grapefruit League games and the first 32 regular season games with a left heel fracture. Was activated from the 15-day disabled list on 5/8...Was placed on the disabled list a second time on 6/6 and underwent surgery on 6/8 to repair an umbilical hernia. Missed 103 days, including two separate injury rehab assignments to Quad Cities (A) and Springfield (AA)...Collected 1st STL hit on 5/12, his 5th career pinch hit and 1st since 5/10/03 at KC...Was 4-for-8 as a pinch-hitter this year...had been 0-for-13 as a pinch hitter entering '06.

2005

Finished the season with Colorado after being acquired in a deal with the Orioles just prior to the trade deadline ... After emerging as a candidate to be the Rockies' centerfielder, he left the club's game on 8/20 vs. CHI after feeling pain in his foot while making a throw...the pain was diagnosed as a strained right Achilles tendon, and he was on the disabled list from Aug. 21-Sept. 5 ... Played in just 23 games for Colorado following trade from Baltimore ... Batted .248 with 5 HR's and 21 RBI in 67 games with Orioles...made 60 starts in the outfield, 54 in left and 6 in center ... Was Baltimore's Opening Day starter in left field for the 2nd consecutive season...hit .268 in April, posting 5 multi-hit games in 16 contests for the O's, who went 16-7 in the opening month...had multiple hits in 3 straight starts from April 22-26 ... Hit just .214 over 17 games in May, dropping season figure to .241...landed on DL near end of May, and was on shelf from May 28-June 12 with a strained left hamstring...went on a 4-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Ottawa prior to rejoining the Orioles, hitting safely in all 4 games played for Lynx from June 9-12 at .294 with a home run and 2 RBI...was activated on June 13 and went 7-for-9 with a homer, 2 walks and 2 RBI in a 3-game series from June 13-15 at HOU ... Hit .350 (14-for-40) with 4 home runs and 8 RBI in 14 games in June after his return, raising season figure from .241 to .270...homered 3 times in a 5-game span from June 24-28...went 7-for-27 (.259) over first 8 games in July, but hit just .111 (3-for-27) over final12 contests with the O's...had 3 hits in 7/22 contest at Tampa Bay ... 2004

Appeared in 139 games in his first full season in the majors, batting .280 with a career-high 15 home runs and 68 RBI. Played 114 games in left field and 30 games in center field...Started 97 of 101 games in left field through the first 5 months of the season...Over the final month, started 22 of 30 games in center. Hit 6 home runs in his first 33 games of the year through May 18...Homered just one time in his next 47 games through the end of the first half. Matched his career-high with a 9-game hitting streak, June 4-15, batting .364 (12-33). Had the game-winning RBI in the first 3 of the Orioles' 5 sudden-death victories...Drew a basesloaded walk in the 13th inning to plate the winning run on April 8 vs. Boston, hit a leadoff home run in the 10th on May 7 vs. Cleveland and had a bases-loaded, 2-out single in the 12th to win the second game of a doubleheader on June 12 vs. San Francisco. Was placed on the 15-day disabled list on August 18 with a strained right groin...Appeared in one game on rehab assignment for Class A Frederick on August 31 and hit a pair of solo home runs. Was activated from the DL on September 1 and played in 31 of the final 32 games of the season...Hit safely in his first 6 games and 23 of 31 games after being activated, batting .324 (35-108), which was the 11th-best average in the American League over that time. Batted .327 (50-153) over the last two months of the season...In 2003-2004 combined, hit .330 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI during the the final two months of the year. Matched his career-high with 4 hits on September 12 vs. New York. Went 3-for-4 with a RBI double, bases-loaded double and a 3-run home run for a career-high 7 RBI on September 17 at Minnesota...It was the most RBI in a game by an Oriole since Chris Hoiles hit 2 grand slams and had 8 RBI on 8/14/98 at Cleveland...Was also only the 6th time since 1969 a hitter batting 9th in the order has had at least 7 RBI in a game and the first time since Philadelphia pitcher Robert Person did it on June 2, 2002.

2003

Began the season at Triple-A Ottawa, but earned a recall when David Segui got injured at the end of April ... Went on the DL himself with a strained rotator cuff on May 23 ... Returned to action with a two-game stint at Baltimore's rookie-level affiliate, then was returned to Ottawa ... The Orioles recalled him on July 26 ... Was hitting .350 for Ottawa at the time ... Bigbie continued his hot-hitting for the big club, posting a .323 average with eight home runs and 26 RBIs from then on ... Finished with a flourish, batting .337 in September.

2002

Spent the majority of the season at AAA Rochester and was recalled by the Orioles in September, appearing in 16 games, including 7 starts.

Went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and walk in his first start on September 4 vs. Texas, his only multi-hit game of the season...Went 4-for-29 (.138) for the remainder of the year...Started at all 3 outfield positions, including 5 starts in left field...Went 0-for-8 as a pinch-hitter...Began the season on the Orioles roster but did not appear in a game and was optioned to Rochester on April 3 when Gary Matthews was acquired from the New York Mets...Finished 2nd among Orioles minor leaguers with a .302 batting average (105-348)...Played in 98 games for Rochester ... Was sidelined twice and missed 40 games with injuries...Went 6-for-6 with a 2B, 3B and 3 RBI on May 6 at Indianapolis, raising his average to .400 to lead the International League...However, he injured his right shoulder sliding into an outfield fence that night and missed the next 8 games...Batted .248 over his next 32 games before suffering a sprained right ankle and missing a month, June 25-July 25...Was selected for the Triple-A All-Star Game but could not play because of the injury...After returning from ankle sprain in late July, hit .269 in 36 games the rest of the season...Hit safely in 70 of 98 games for the Red Wings...Had a season-high 10-game hitting streak, April 23- May 3...At Rochester, made 30 starts in left field, 24 starts in center field, 16 starts in right field and 25 starts at designated hitter...Tied for IL lead with 7 intentional walks ... Batted .390 (23-59) with 2 outs and runners on base.

2001

Began the season at AA Bowie and was 8th in the Eastern League with a .300 average before his contract was purchased on 6/23 when Chris Richard was placed on the disabled list ... Made his major league debut that day, going 0-for-3 against Chicago ... Collected his first major league hit on 6/28 atToronto off Chris Michalak ... Had 2 hits, including a double and an RBI, in that game and had 2 more hits in his next game on 6/29 at Chicago ... Was optioned to Bowie on 7/5 when Richard was activated and a week later was transferred to AAA Rochester ... Batted .310 (13-42) with a home run and 2 RBI and hit safely in 9 of 10 games for the Red Wings before being recalled again when David Segui was placed on the disabled list ... Delivered a game-winning, pinch-hit single in the 10th inning on 7/27 at Anaheim ... Went 2-for-3 with his first major league home run off Pat Rapp on 7/28 at Anaheim ... Went 5-for-10 with a home run and 3 RBI in 10 games during his second stint with the Orioles ... Went 3-for-4 with a walk as a pinch-hitter during that time ... Was optioned to Rochester on 8/4 when Segui was activated, but returned two days later when Jay Gibbons was placed on the disabled list ... Had a season-high 6-game hitting streak, 8/14-8/24 ... Missed 9 games in early September with a strained right hamstring ... Returned to lineup on 9/18 and later put together a 4-game hitting streak in which he went 8-for-18 with three doubles ... Missed the final 6 games of the year with a pulled right hamstring ... His .296 batting average in 81 games for Bowie and Rochester was the 3rd highest average in the Orioles farm system ... Homered for Bowie at Harrisburg on 5/11, his first HR at the AA level in 235 at-bats ... Followed 3 nights later with an inside the park homer and a 3-run shot over the fence and homered in 3 straight games, 6/11-6/13 ... Following the season, played part of the winter for La Romana in the Dominican Winter League.

1999

Signed on 6/18 and started at Bluefield before spending most of season at Delmarva...In his first game with the Shorebirds on June 30, hit a home run and triple and drove in 4 runs...Had 16 multi-hit games at Delmarva...Batted .314 when playing the outfield and .191 as DH...
