Spent most of the season in the minor leagues, where in 122 apps for Pensacola and Louisville he combined to hit .235 (19 2b, 3 3b, 7hr, 44rbi, 2sb)...was on the Reds' roster from 7/31-8/3 and made 1 appearance, as a pinch hitter on 8/2 vs Pit in his Major League debut, after taking the roster spot vacated by traded RHP Mike Leake... struck out vs Charlie Morton...returned to Louisville when LHP Manny Parra came off the disabled list and spent the rest of the season with the Bats...began the season at Pensacola, where he participated in the Southern League's All-Star Game and Home Run Derby...was promoted to Louisville on 6/24 and spent the rest of the minor league season there...at the 2 stops combined to make 35 apps at 1B and 82 apps in the OF...was on the U.S. roster for the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

Was the organization's Minor League Hitter of the Year, Most Valuable Player of the California League All-Star Game and Southern League Player of the Week for 8/18-8/24...in 131 apps at Class A Bakersfield and Class AA Pensacola combined to hit .338 (37 2b, 4 3b, 14hr, 67rbi, 14sb)...led all Reds minor leaguers in hitting...was the organization's Player of the Month for April (27g, .406, 9 2b, 2hr, 13rbi, 4sb)...began the season at Bakersfield, was promoted on 6/18...following the season played in the prestigious Arizona Fall League and was named to the AFL Rising Stars team (19g, .300, 3 2b, 2 3b, 2hr, 14rbi, 2sb)...on 11/20 was added to the 40-man roster.
