Played six games for the SoftBank Hawks of the Japanese Baseball League before being released... His lone hit in 12 at bats was a home run.

2013

Led all Marlins' Minor Leaguers in home runs (28) and RBI (78) last season... Spent first 70 games of season with Double-A Jacksonville before promotion to Triple-A New Orleans on June 23... Finished ninth in Southern League in home runs (16) for season, despite remaining at NOLA for remainder of year following call-up... Homered in four straight games from June 3-7; final game of streak marked end of a season-long, seven-game hitting streak (.357/10x28, 3 2b, 5 hr, 7 rbi)... Earned Organizational Player of the Month honors for June, batting .277 (26x94) in 25 games between Jacksonville and NOLA. Had 21 runs, eight doubles, 11 home runs and 21 RBI over that span... Also won Southern League Player of the Week honors for June 3-9, batting .350 (7x20) in six games, with two doubles, four homers and six RBI... Began season with single-A Jupiter before being promoted to double-A Jacksonville on August 12. Despite not finishing year with Jupiter, led team in hits, home runs and RBI...Named Most Valuable Player of Florida State League, finishing first in circuit in slugging percentage and OPS, third in home runs, fifth in batting and tied for 16th in RBI...Earned Marlins' Minor League Player of the Month honors in April after batting at a .369 clip (31x84) with 15 runs, six doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI and 11 walks. Over first 11 games of season, went 21x43 (.488) with four doubles, three homers and 14 RBI and was recognized as FSL Player of the Week over stretch (April 7-17)...Had an 11-game hitting streak from April 30-May 11 with Hammerheads during which he hit for a .333 average (16x48). On May 1 at St. Lucie, set a season high with four hits in a game and set a new career high with five RBI...On July 10, recorded first multi-home run game of career by hitting two home runs at Clearwater. Repeated feat on August 19, this time hitting two home runs with Jacksonville vs. Mobile.

2009

After being selected in 2009 First-Year Player Draft,reported to short season single-A Jamestown and was named a New York-Penn League All-Star...Earned NY-PL Player of the Week honors for hitting at a .435 clip (10x23) with four runs, three doubles, a triple and six RBI during week of July 19-25.
