2006

Was recalled by the Chicago Cubs from Iowa (AAA) on Sept. 5...Played four games for the Cubs...Picked up his first big league hit and RBI with a two-run single in the eighth inning against Milwaukee's Derrick Turnbow in a 14-6 Chicago victory...Began the year with West Tennessee (AA) of the Southern League...Was promoted to Iowa of the Pacific Coast League on June 21...In Iowa, he compiled a .357 (15-42) batting average in August...Put together eight games with two hits at Triple-A...With West Tennessee, he had one game with three hits, May 3 vs. Huntsville, and six contests with two hits...Knocked in three runs vs. Mississippi on May 8.

2000

Began his professional career with the Cubs' Dominican team, where he hit .271 in 24 games.

2001

Batted .288 with 36 RBI and stole a career-high 12 bases for the Cubs' Dominican team.

2005

Jose spent the entire season at West Tenn (AA) where he hit .257 in 97 Southern League games...had 23 multi-hit contests ... including a season-high three-hit affair April 28 at Mississippi...drove in three runs June 1 at Tennessee and July 9 at Carolina - ended the season with a career-high 50 RBI.

2004

Spent the year at Daytona (A), batting .226 with 12 doubles and 17 RBI in 80 games...had a season-high six-game hitting streak August 15-21 - batted 7-for-14 (.500) over the stretch.

2003

Played in 81 total games for Boise (A) and Lansing (A), where he combined to hit .244 with 25 RBI...spent the majority of the season at Lansing, had a career-high 12-game hitting streak April 20-May 5...batted .350 (14-40) with 3 doubles and 5 RBI over the stretch.

2002

Saw his first action in the United States, playing in 20 total games for the Cubs' Mesa (R) and West Tenn (AA) clubs.
