Jose Antonio Offerman
Jose Antonio Offerman...Married, wife's name is Alexis; two daughters, Joseann (3/10/94) and Jealynn (7/3/97)...Attended Colegio Biblico Cristiano High School (DR), where he played baseball, basketball and volleyball.
2005
He came out of nowhere in late June to provide some productive pinch-hitting -- 11-for-37 (.297) -- and tentative defense. A potential free agent, Offerman didn't appear to have a place in the club's plans for 2006. But his ability to deliver off the bench -- if he retains it at age 37 -- will make him attractive to any team with a need for pinch-hitting. He accepted a Minor League assignment with the Mets after the Phillies released him in late May and played for the Major League minimum, so he has appeal in that regard, too.
