Made his Major League debut on Sept. 7 vs. COL, becoming the 6th Padre in 2020 to debut (Edward Olivares, Jake Cronenworth, Luis Patiño, Jorge Mateo, and Luis Campusano)... Homered on September 10 vs. SF for his 1st-career ML hit (went 414 ft. to the 2nd deck in LF with an exit velo of 104.5 mph)...his homer made him the 16th Padre to hit a HR as his 1st hit and the 1st to do so since Luis Campusano 6 days earlier on Sept. 4 @ OAK...it was the 1st time in SD history in which 2 Padres players had their 1st hits go for HRs within a week's time, and it was the 1st time any team did that since the Giants in 2018 (Aramis Garcia on Aug. 31 and Chris Shaw on Sept. 3, 2018)... Made 1 appearance in right field and 4 as the DH... Reached base safely via hit or walk in 4 of his 5 appearances (.400 OBP with 2 BB).
2019
Played in 25 games for Amarillo (AA), slashing .348/.417/.539 with 2 2B, 5 HR, 18 RBI, 2 SB, 11 BB and 11 runs scored in 25 games...Had his 2019 season cut short after undergoing seasonending surgery in July to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder...In April, Oña ranked in the top 5 in the Texas League in AVG (.367), SLG (.582), OBP (.441), OPS (1.023) and RBI (18)...Hit safely in 20 of his 25 games played, including 9 multihit efforts...Recorded his 1st multi-HR game on April 20 at Corpus Christi…that game started a stretch of him hitting safely in 9 of his final 10 games of the season (.495 AVG) before playing his final game of the season on May 3.
2018
Spent the entire season with Lake Elsinore (A), slashing .239/.312/.380 with 24 2B, 2 3B, 8 HR, 44 RBI and 33 BB in 100 games...Started the season batting .293 (24-for-82) in April with 6 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI and 10 runs scored...Hit .224 (64-for-286) with 18 2B, 7 HR, 38 RBI and 34 runs scored from May 1 through Aug. 23.
2017
Made his professional debut with Fort Wayne (A), batting .277 (115-for-415) with 18 2B, 1 3B, 11 HR, 64 RBI, 40 BB and 8 SB in 107 games for the TinCaps...Was named a Mid-Season Midwest League All-Star after batting .286 (56-for-196) with 2 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 28 RBI, 15 BB, 3 SB and 25 runs scored in 51 games during the first half of the season...With RISP, batted .295 (39-for-132) with 6 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR and 55 RBI...Had a hit in each of the 3 Midwest League Semifinal games, batting .273 (3-for-11) while helping Fort Wayne defeat the Dayton Dragons to advance to the MWL Championship Series.
