Married, with two children... Is a 1990 graduate of Pinecrest (NC) HS, where he played baseball, basketball and football... Was recruited by several NCAA Division I schools as a fullback in football... Drafted in the 4th round of the 1990 First Year Player Draft by the Chicago White Sox... Signed by Sox scouts Alexs Cosmidis & Danny Monzon... Born and still lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
2005
Signed a Minor League contract with the Orioles on January 17... Began the season at AAA Ottawa and also pitched for Texas between his two stints with the Orioles... Signed to a minor league contract and was sent to AAA Ottawa to begin the season... His contract was purchased on May 21 and he pitched out of the bullpen until being designated for assignment on July 18... Was claimed off waivers by Texas on July 21... Appeared in eight games for the Rangers before being reclaimed off waivers by the Orioles on August 22 and rejoined the team two days later... Made his first appearance for the Orioles on May 29 vs. Detroit with 1.0 IP, allowing one hit while striking out two... In his first stint with the Orioles, pitched to a 2.12 ERA in 12 relief outings (22.1IP, 17H, 4R/ER, 3BB, 12K) before being claimed by Texas on July 21... Earned his 2nd career save with a scoreless 9th inning in Texas' 11-8 win over the Orioles in 11 innings on July 27 at Camden Yards... Was the losing pitcher on July 26 against the Orioles at Camden Yards and on August 11 at New York, his last game for Texas before being designated for assignment.
