Jakson Reetz #23

Jakson and his wife, Paige, were married on Nov. 19, 2022 in Omaha, NE. The two make their offseason home in Elkhorn, NE. Jakson and Paige welcomed a baby boy, Boston, during Spring Training this year. Graduated from Norris High School in Nebraska where he was a three-sport athlete in baseball, football and basketball. Reetz was named the Gatorade Nebraska Baseball Player of the Year for 2013-14 after hitting .487 with eight homers and 37 RBI as a senior. Reetz was committed to continue his baseball playing career at the University of Nebraska before being drafted by the Nationals in the third round of the 2014 draft.

2023

Was a non-roster invite to Royals Spring Training. Opened the year back in Triple-A Omaha where he ended the 2022 campaign. Appeared in 27 games for the Storm Chasers from April-June before being released by Kansas City on June 16. Signed with the Giants on June 26 and was assigned to Triple-A Sacramento. Logged a .911 OPS with five homers and 19 RBI in July with the River Cats (21 games)... followed it up with an .897 OPS and five more homers in 19 August games. Overall hit 13 homers in 55 games after joining Sacramento.

2022

Was a non-roster invitee to Brewers Major League Spring Training in 2022 before hitting 30 home runs in 104 games in the Minors, after hitting 33 homers in his first 474 games from 2014-21...Reetz was named Double-A Southern League MVP despite playing in just 64 games with Biloxi, where he slashed .281/.392/.636 (65-for-231) with 22 home runs and 16 doubles…he also earned MiLB.com Organization All-Star and Southern League postseason All-Star honors...Appeared in 19 games with Triple-A Nashville, where he had htree HR and nine RBI...Reetz was released by Milwaukee on Aug. 20 after he refused an outright assignment to the Minors and signed with Kansas City on Aug. 24...He played in 21 games for the Triple-A Storm Chasers and hit .257 (18-for-82) with five HR and 15 RBI...Finished the season with a .934 OPS across all three stops in the Minors, which ranked fourth among all Minor League catchers (min. 350 at-bats).

2021

On the 10-day injured list from 9/1-9/10 with right forearm inflammation...Released by San Diego on 11/23...signed as a free agent with Milwaukee on 12/22.

2020

Spent the entire season at the Alternate Training Site (Fredericksburg).

2019

Named a mid-season Carolina League All-Star...Recipient of the seventh-annual Bob Boone Award, given to the Nationals Minor League player who best demonstrates the professionalism, leadership, loyalty, passion, selflessness, durability, determination and work ethic required to play the game the "Washington Nationals Way."...Posted career bests in RBI (55), hits (82), runs scored (54) and walks (46).
