Made his major league debut with the Cubs, appearing in seven games during two stints from July 19-27 and Aug. 14-24...his debut was July 19 vs. San Francisco as a pinch-hitter...collected his first big league hit Aug. 15 vs. Cincinnati off Phil Dumatrait, a second-inning double...in 116 minor league games between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa, he combined to bat .284 with 30 doubles, 24 homers and 79 RBI...named to the Southern League Midseason All-Star Team after hitting .284 with 18 home runs for Tennessee...awarded Southern League Player of the Week honors for the period of May 14-20, going 16 for 29 (.552) with three doubles, a triple, four home runs and five RBI...with Iowa, belted three home runs Aug. 11 at Oklahoma.

Split the season between Single-A and Double-A affiliates, combining to hit .294 in 121 games... began the season at Single-A Daytona and batted .313 with 16 homers and 61 RBI before being promoted in June...finished the season with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and batted .269 in his first 55 games at the Double-A level...batted .250 in 17 games for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League following the season...drove in six runs Nov. 7 against Grand Canyon...went 3 for 6 in the contest with a double.
