Jacque Dewayne Jones...wife Krista (Hamilton)...son Jacque, Jr. (8/4/98), daughter Jourdyn (9/21/06)...1993 graduate of San Diego (Calif.) High School where he played baseball, basketball and football...attended University of Southern California where he was Third-Team All-American in 1996 and Pac-10 All-Conference selection in 1995 and 1996...tied for third in NCAA in hits (106) in 1995...was second in conference in hits (93) in 1996...was second in RBI (49), tied for second in home runs (15) and was third in batting (.404) for USA Olympic Team...2005 Twins representative for the Roberto Clemente Award.

Spent his second season with Chicago (NL)...hit safely in 14 of his first 15 games, April 6-23...first four-hit game, July 19 vs. San Francisco...season-high four RBI, April 28 at St. Louis...tied season-high with four RBI, August 9 at Colorado (four hits)...season-high nine-game hit-streak August 8-17...third four-hit game, August 16 vs. Cincinnati...fourth four-hit game, August 24 at Arizona...fourth in the NL with 11 doubles and tied for eighth with 38 hits, batting .349 (38-for-109) in August...did not commit an error over his final 51 games, July 31-September 30...batted .342 (27-for-79) with 11 runs, five doubles and 16 RBI in 24 September games...batted .358 (44-for-123) with runners in scoring position.
2006
Jones found his hitting stroke again after a dropoff in 2005. He matched his career high in home runs (27), and finished strong, hitting .310 over his final 12 games. He had 43 multi-hit games, including nine three-hit games and two four-hit games. He was a triple shy of the cycle on Sept. 26 against Milwaukee, going 3-for-5 with his 27th homer, a double, three RBIs and three runs scored. He's totaled at least 22 doubles every season of his career.
2005
Jacque batted .249 with 22 doubles, 23 homers and 73 RBI in 142 games for Minnesota ... the outfielder led the Twins in homers, runs scored (74) and total bases (229) ... tied a career high, collecting 13 stolen bases ... batted .353 (24-68) and had a .471 on-base percentage and a .603 slugging percentage in 21 games in the month of April ... had a 13-game hitting streak May 31-June 14, batting .345 (19-55) over the stretch ... recorded his second career double-digit assists season, collecting 10 ... was tied for fourth among American League outfielders ... had 31 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI affairs ... doubled and homered in the same game five times, including a 3-hit affair on August 5 in a 12-0 defeat of Boston ... hit a game-winning pinch-homer May 10 off Baltimore's Steve Kline ... the 10th-inning blast put the Twins up 5-4 in their 6-4 win ... it was his second career pinch-homer ... hit a one-out, solo walkoff homer off Baltimore's Jason Grimsley on July 20 ... made his sixth career Opening Day start ... found a groove when facing National League pitching June 8-10, homering in three straight games for the first time in his career ... hit a 2-run homer off Arizona's Claudio Vargas on June 8, followed up with another 2-run blast off Arizona's Javier Vazquez on June 9 and hit a solo shot off Los Angeles Dodger Brad Penny on June 10.

Jacque saw his average dip to .254, but still ranked second on the club in homers (24) and RBI (80) ... ranked sixth among American League outfielders in fielding percentage (.994), committing just 2 errors in 325 total chances ... tied a career high with 13 stolen bases ... saw action in 151 games, 3 shy of his career high ... had a 12-game hitting streak August 9-21, batting .354 (17-48) over the stretch ... also had an eight-game streak April 12-21, going 15-for-32 (.469) with 4 doubles, 10 RBI and 4 stolen bases ... had 38 multi-hit games and 22 multi-RBI games ... had six 3-hit games ... homered in back-to-back games August 27-28 ... hit a game-winning walkoff homer April 27 off Toronto's Justin Speier ... the 3-run homer gave the Twins a 7-4 victory ... also had a game-winning home run on July 31 off Boston's Alan Embree ... the one-out, solo shot came in the eighth inning ... drove in a season-high 4 runs on April 18 against Kansas City, as he hit a 2-run double and a 2-run triple.
