Began professional career in the Florida Complex League after being selected No. 1 overall in the draft on 7/11...Went 2-for-4 with three RBI in his professional debut on 8/3 against the Florida Complex League Rays; doubled in his second at-bat and homered off Over Galue in his next at-bat in the fourth inning...Played in two games with the Florida Complex League Pirates Black team before being promoted to High-A Greensboro on 8/12...Tripled in his first at-bat with Greensboro on 8/12 vs. Winston-Salem... Hit safely in five of his first six professional games between the Florida Complex League and Greensboro, going 8-for-19 with two doubles, a triple and three home runs...Homered in back-to-back games on 8/17 and 8/19 vs. Bowling Green... Was placed on the seven-day injured list on 8/24 with a right oblique strain and missed the remainder of the season.
