Gregory Adam Reynolds...Went 13- 10, 4.11 (94 ER/206.0 IP) in 51 games/28 starts over a three-year career for the Stanford Cardinal...is the highest draft pick in school history...in final season, led team in wins, ERA, strikeouts, innings and starts...prior to the '06 draft, was rated by Baseball America as the 4th-best pitcher and 5th-best draft prospect overall...tossed complete games in 3 consecutive starts ahead of the draft, April 30-May 12, besting Cal's Brandon Morrow (drafted 5th overall by Seattle) on May 5 and Washington's Tim Lincecum (10th overall by San Francisco) on May 12...aided in Stanford's win at Austin Regional, tossing complete game victory in the Cardinal's 7-2 win over North Carolina State on June 2...earned NCAA All-Regional honors for that effort...was named all-Pac 10 honorable mention in '06...pitched in Cape Cod League in summers of both 2004 and 2005...in his senior year (2003) at Terra Nova (CA) High School, was named Gatorade California Baseball Player and Bay Area Athlete of the Year, also earning All-State, First Team All-San Mateo County and Peninsula Athletic League Player of the Year honors after going 4-3, 0.91 (85.0 ip)...was recruited by several D-I schools as a quarterback...played three summers from 2000- 02 with Pacifica Joe DiMaggio team...was drafted by Philadelphia out of Terra Nova High School in the 41st round of the 2003 June draft, but did not sign.
2011
Had 5 separate stints in the majors, going 3-0 with a 6.19 ERA (22 ER/32.0 IP) in 13 games/3 starts for Colorado...the 5 stints: April 7-13, May 22-June 7, July 2, Aug. 6, and Sept. 5-end of season...opponents batted .303 (40-132) with 6 HR...allowed all 4 inherited runners to score and retired 5 of 10 first batters faced in relief...called to the big leagues before appearing in the minors when Ubaldo Jimenez was placed on the 15-day DL...went 1-0, 3.27 (4 ER/11.0 IP) in 2 starts before going back to minors... pitched exclusively in relief over 3 May appearances (6.2 IP, 4 RER)... earned win in spot start July 2 vs. Kansas City (5.0 IP, 5 RER), his most recent ML start, and pitched 1.0 inning in relief (4 R-ER) on Aug. 6 vs. Washington...made 6 relief appearances for Rox in September (8.1 IP, 5 R-ER)...last outing was Sept. 25 at Houston (2.0 IP, 2 R-ER)...was outrighted off Colorado's 40-man roster on Oct. 5 and traded to Texas in exchange for OF Chad Tracy on Jan. 5, 2012.
2010
Began the season on the 60-day disabled list after being injured during Spring Training and started two rehab games for High-A Modesto in early May...in those two outings allowed just one earned run in 11.0 innings (0.82 ERA)...Was removed from the disabled list in mid-June and spent the rest of the season with Double-A Tulsa where he went 7-6, 5/22 (89.2 ip, 52 er) in 17 starts...he struckout 45 compared to walking just 15 and held hitters to a .290 average (105-for-362)...Played for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League where he went 1-5, 4.13 (24.0 ip, 11 er) in 7 starts for the Scorpions.
2009
After competing in Major League Spring training for a spot on the Major League roster was sent to Triple-A Colorado Springs to begin the season... made just one start for the Sky Sox before being shut down for the remainder of the season due to injury...allowed 5 earned runs in 4.1 innings in that start on 4/9 vs. Las Vegas...due to injury has made just 7 starts, all with Colorado Springs, since being optioned to the Minors on 7/5/08.
2008
Made his MLB debut less than two years after being drafted...made 14 appearances and 13 starts in two stints with the big league club, going 2-8 with an 8.13 ERA (62.0 ip, 56 er)...began the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs before being summoned to the Majors on 5/11 at SD...rejoined the Sky Sox in early July and spent the remainder of the Triple-A season with the club before being recalled as part of September call-ups...in his first stint with the Rockies he went 2-6 with a 6.71 ERA (57.2 ip, 43 er) in 11 starts...during his 2nd opportunity with the Rockies he went 0-2 with a 27.00 ERA (4.1 ip, 13 er) in 3 games/2 starts...in his final 3 starts with the Rockies he allowed 20 earned runs in 4.2 innings...Reynolds' opponents hit .322 (83-for-258) off the right-hander while with the Rockies; lefties batted .344 (45-for-131) while righties hit .299 (38-for-127)...he also walked more batters (26) than he struck out (22)...Reynolds allowed 14 home runs in 62.0 innings, a rate of 2.03 home runs allowed per 9 innings pitched...made his MLB debut 5/11 at SD and took his loss, tossing 5.2 innings and allowing 4 runs, all earned...took a no- decision in each of his next 2 starts, although the Rockies won each of those games...tossed his first career quality start 5/17 vs. MIN; allowed no runs over 6.0 innings while striking out a career-best 5 batters...took consecutive losses 5/28 at PHI and 6/2 at LA...allowed 6 runs in each game...issued career-high 8 walks 5/28 at PHI...earned his first victory 6/7 vs. MIL; allowed 2 runs in 6.0 innings in the Rockies' 7-2 victo- ry...notched the 2nd win of his career two starts later 6/17 vs. CLE in the Rockies 10-2 win; again tossed 6.0 innings and allowed only one run while striking out 4...lost each of his next 2 starts, although 6/22 vs. NYM he tossed what was his 2nd consecutive quality start, the only time he posted consecutive quality out- ings all season...made his last start before being transferred back to Triple-A on 7/4 vs. FLA; allowed 7 runs, all earned in 1.1 innings (was a game that the Rockies would win 18-17)...after being optioned back to Colorado Springs he went 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA (30.0 ip, 12 er) in his 2nd stint with the Sky Sox from 7/10- end of the Triple-A season...on the season, he went 1-3 with a 4.26 ERA (63.1 ip, 30 er) with 22 walks and 37 strikeouts in 13 starts for the Sky Sox...Pacific Coast League batters hit Reynolds at a .328 clip (84-for- 256) with lefties hitting .350 (43-for-123) and righties .308 (41-for-133)...returned to the Rockies 9/5 and made the first relief appearance of his career 9/10 at ATL; tossed a perfect frame with 2 K's in that out- ing...made his first start since returning to club 9/15 vs. SD and allowed 7 runs, all earned over 2.0 innings in taking the loss...made his final start/appearance of the season 9/21 vs. ARI when he again did not last more than 2.0 innings; allowed 6 runs, all earned over 1.1 innings and took his 8th and final loss of the year...in his final 3 starts for the Rockies he went 0-2 with a 38.57 ERA (4.2 ip, 20 er).
2007
In just his second pro season, Reynolds was hampered by a right shoulder injury and was eventually shut down for the remainder of the season...prior to being injured, went 4-1 with a 1.42 ERA (50.2 ip, 8 er) in eight games/starts for Double-A Tulsa...recorded 35 strikeouts against just nine walks and held opposing batters at a .180 avg. against...did not allow more than two earned runs in any of his starts and five of his eight outings were quality assignments...was named to the Texas League mid-season All-Star team, but due to injury was replaced on the North Division roster by teammate Ryan Mattheus...earned wins in three consecutive starts from May 3-15, allowing just two earned runs over 20.2 innings during that span (0.87 ERA)...was placed on the disabled list from May 21-June 19 with right shoulder inflammation...was reinstated on the 19th and started that night vs. Wichita, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing no runs on two hits...was scratched from his scheduled start on June 25 due to discomfort in his right shoulder and was placed on the disabled list again on June 25 to the remainder of the season.
2006
Made his professional debut just two weeks after signing with Colorado and went 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA (48.2 ip, 18 er) in 11 games/starts for Modesto of the High-A Cal League...was restricted in length of his outings, as he was coming off a full college season...never pitched more than 5.0 frames in any of his starts...opponents batted .271, including just .183 (13-for-71) by lefties...had a 2.87 ERA (40.2 ip, 13 er) over his final nine starts...did not allow any earned runs in six of his 11 outings...made his pro debut on July 8 at Bakersfield, taking no decision despite allowing two unearned runs in 5.0 innings...in next outing July 13 at Visalia, took no decision despite allowing five runs in 3.0 innings...recorded career-high six K's in the game...all runs scored in the second inning...gave up his only pro home run allowed in that outing, a two-run blast to Devil Rays prospect Evan Longoria, who was drafted immediately after Reynolds...did not allow a home run in final nine starts and 41.2 innings...tossed consecutive scoreless outings twice, both 9.0-inning spans, July 19-25 and Aug. 5-10...first professional win came Aug. 10 vs. Bakersfield, tossing 5.0 shutout innings in Nuts' 6-0 victory...also won next-to-last start Aug. 26 at Stockton, another 5.0 scoreless inning outing...took lone pro loss in final start Aug. 31 at San Jose, allowing four runs (three earned) in 5.0 frames...participated in Rockies instructional league in the fall and winter development camp in January.
