In February 2011 was signed as an undrafted 17-year-old by scout Fred Guerrero of the Twins...following the 2017 season, his control was rated by Baseball America the best in the Twins' organization...made both of his Major League starts in 2017 for the Twins...in his Major League debut on 7/1/17 at KC earned the 10-5 win (5ip, 7h, 3er, 1bb, 2k, 1hr)...received no decision in the 9-6 win vs the Orioles on 7/7/17 (2.2ip, 7h, 6er, 1bb, 2k, 3hr)...in 2016 was a Baseball America High Class A All-Star, a mid-season Florida State League All-Star and MiLB.com Player of the Month for June...in 2015 was a mid-season Midwest League All-Star and MWL Pitcher of the Week for 4/14-4/20...in 2014 was Appalachian League Pitcher of the Year and a Baseball America Rookie All-Star.
2018
With the exception of 2 rehab apps at GCL Twins in June spent the season on Chattanooga's disabled list...spent the season recovering from a right elbow ligament sprain and then a right flexor mass injury...on 6/29, after his first stint on the disabled list, was designated for assignment...on 7/6 was released...on 7/11 was re-signed by the Twins to a minor league contract and immediately placed on Chattanooga's DL...became a free agent following the season...on 11/10/19 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League spring training camp.
2017
Pitched in Twins spring training and was optioned to Double-A Chattanooga March 13...Went 8-1, 3.26 ERA (85.2 IP, 31 ER) with 22 walks and 61 strikeouts in 14 starts for the Lookouts before being recalled as 26th man for doubleheader at Kansas City...Made major league debut July 1 at Kansas City, allowing three runs on seven hits in 5.0 innings pitched with one walk allowed, earning the win; first strikeout was of Whit Merrifield in the third inning; sent back to Chattanooga postgame...Recalled again July 7 to make one start vs. Baltimore, allowing six runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings pitched and optioned back to Chattanooga postgame...Went 2-2, 4.04 ERA (49.0 IP, 22 ER) in eight starts for the Lookouts and was promoted to Rochester August 23...Finished the season with the Red Wings, going 0-1, 5.02 ERA (14.1 IP, 8 ER)... Named as having the best control in Twins system by Baseball America, entering 2018.
2016
Began season with Single-A Ft. Myers...Named Twins minor league Player of the Week June 18, making one start at Lakeland (June 15), allowing one run on six hits in 7.2 innings pitched with no walks and six strikeouts...Named MiLB.com Florida State League Player of the Month in June, going 5-0, 1.59 ERA (34.0 IP, 6 ER) with two walks, 31 strikeouts and two complete games (1 shutout) in five starts...Named Florida State League Midseason All-Star...Won seven straight games for the Miracle and was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga July 7...Made 11 starts for the Lookouts, including a 9.0-inning complete game in final start September 5 at Jackson...Combined to go 12-8, 2.69 ERA (167.1 IP, 50 ER) with 23 walks, 109 strikeouts and three complete games in 25 starts between Ft. Myers and Chattanooga...Added to Twins 40-man roster November 18...Named eighth best prospect in Twins system by Baseball America entering 2017.
