Thompson...single...attended Land O' Lakes High School (FL) where he was a three-year letterman in baseball and first-team All-State and two-time All-Conference selection as a pitcher...in his spare time he likes to fish, see movies and listen to music...signed by Indians scout Jim Dabella.

Appeared in the Major Leagues for the first time in his career, making three starts and one relief appearance for the Dodgers...was 0-0 with a 3.50 ERA (7 ER/18.0 IP), allowing 16 hits, striking out 13 and walking 10 before a season-ending elbow injury...split his time with three teams -- the Dodgers, Triple-A Las Vegas and Double-A Jacksonville...was recalled by the Dodgers from Jacksonville on May 28 and made his Major League debut that night, starting against the Arizona Diamondbacks...went five innings, allowing two runs, two hits and four walks with four strikeouts...left the game winning, 4-2, but was saddled with a no-decision as the Dodgers lost, 5-4...recorded a sacrifice hit in his first Major League plate appearance...was the first Dodgers pitcher to make his debut as a starter since Edwin Jackson on Sept. 9, 2003, also against Arizona at Bank One Ballpark.
2004
Went 5-7 with a 3.72 ERA in 22 starts for Double-A Jacksonville, his first full season in the Dodger organization...chosen to pitch in the Southern League All- Star Game...fanned 100 batters in 118.2 innings pitched...did not allow a home run in his first 95.2 innings and permitted just three round-trippers all season...struck out season-high eight batters twice...strung together three strong starts from May 24 - June 8, going 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA (4 ER/19.0 IP)...during that stretch, had two outings in which he pitched a season-high 7.0 innings...struck out a season-high eight batters on two occasions...went 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA (4 ER/19.1 IP) during his first four outings of the season, his first action since the end of the 2002 season.
