Spent most of the summer at the Phillies' alternate training site... On 8/31 was designated for assignment... On 9/3 was claimed off waivers by the Red Sox... On 9/8 was promoted as the 27th player for that day's doubleheader at Phi and in the nightcap made his only appearance of the season...started behind the plate in the 5-2 Red Sox win and in the fourth inning produced an RBI-single off Vince Velasquez... Following that 9/8 doubleheader split at Phi returned to the Red Sox' alternate training site, where he spent the rest of the season... On 12/23 was claimed off waivers by the Reds... Played for Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League (12g, .211, 1 2b, 1hr, 2 rbi).

Was a non-roster invitee to ML spring training...Spent majority of the season with Lehigh Valley (AAA)...Was selected as an International League midseason All-Star...Ranked T-8th in the IL with 77 RBI...His 163 total bases as a catcher were 2nd-most in the IL; his 202 total bases overall led the IronPigs...Was on the 7-day IL with a left great toe fracture, 7/2-12...Had his contract selected from Lehigh Valley on 9/1...On 9/22 at CLE, made his ML debut as a pinch-hitter (0-1)...Made his first ML start at catcher in Game 1 of a doubleheader on 9/24 at WSH...
