Full name is Declan Evans Cronin...Is a 2019 graduate of the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass...Was named First-Team All-Patriot League in 2019. Earned PL All-Tournament honors in 2018-19. Was named to the All-Academic Honor Roll all fours years (2016-19)...Graduated in 2016 from Regis High School in NYC. Helped guide Regis to a state championship in 2015. Played two seasons of basketball.

2023

Declan Cronin spent most of the season with Triple-A Charlotte and made his debut with the White Sox in July last season...Held right-handed batters to a .095 (2x21) AVG. Tossed at least 1.0 IP in eight of his nine outings with Chicago-AL...His contract was selected from Triple-A Charlotte on July 28 and made his Major League debut on July 30 at CLE (2 ER/2.0 IP)...Recorded his first career strikeout on Aug. 1 at TEX. Struck out five batters over two scoreless IP on Aug. 8 vs. NYY...Was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 21 and recalled a second time on Sept. 4. Was placed on the IL on Sept. 5 with blisters on his right hand and reinstated on Sept. 23...Made 47 relief appearances with Charlotte. Did not allow a run in five straight appearances from April 18-29. Surrendered just six hits with four strikeouts in 4.2 IP. Posted a 1.93 ERA (2 ER/9.1 IP) and a .171 (6x35) opponent AVG in nine games in May...Owned an eight-game scoreless stretch from May 25-June 13, and allowed three hits with zero walks and six strikeouts over 9.1 IP...Tossed eighth straight scoreless outings (9.1 IP) from July 20-Sept. 19. Combined to go 2-2 with a 3.71 ERA (21 ER/51.0 IP) and 36 strikeouts over 49 appearances (one start) between Class AA Birmingham and Class AAA Charlotte...his 51.0 IP marked a career high as a professional...Held opponents to a .206 (13-63) average with RISP...Allowed one run or less 20 times with Birmingham...made one start with the Barons on 6/1 at Tennessee (perfect first)...Was promoted to Charlotte on 6/19...recorded a season-high 7.2 scoreless IP streak from 7/17-8/11, holding opponents to a .192 (5-26) average with no walks...Was placed on injured list on 9/14 with strained right thigh and missed the remainder of the season...Pitched in nine games for Glendale in the Arizona Fall League.

Went a combined 5-2 with a 4.56 ERA (24 ER/47.1 IP) and 43 strikeouts over 35 relief appearances between Class Advanced A Winston-Salem and Birmingham...Opponents hit .226 (40-177)...righties hit .203 (23-113)...Spent most of 2021 with Winston-Salem...allowed five runs in 2.0 IP in his debut on 5/5 vs. Rome...surrendered just six runs in 17.0 IP over his next 12 outings from 5/8-6/29 (3.18 ERA)...Was promoted to Birmingham on 8/25, where he went 3-0 with a 1.65 ERA (3 ER/16.1 IP) and 13 strikeouts in 13 games.

Combined to go 2-2 with a 2.88 ERA (11 ER/34.1 IP) in 20 appearances between the Arizona Rookie League White Sox and Class A Kannapolis in his professional debut...Held opponents to a .208 (25-120) average...right-handers hit .186 (13-70) while lefties batted .240 (12-50)...Six of his seven games with the AZL White Sox were scoreless...Was promoted to Kannapolis on 7/14...posted a 3.06 ERA (6 ER/17.2 IP), .186 (11-59) opponents average, 0.91 WHIP and 14 strikeouts over nine appearances in Aug. ...Was recommended/signed by White Sox scout Steve Payne.
