Played the majority of the season at Triple-A Memphis. Started most of his games at second base (99 starts/105 games) and also appeared at shortstop (17 starts/18 games)…Recalled for 5 days to St. Louis on 4/19 (Randal Grichuk D.L.) and optioned 4/23. Was 0-1 in his one pinch-hit at-bat with STL (4/23 at WSH)…Led the Pacific Coast League with 77 walks and his 80 runs scored were T7th in the league. Walked a Memphis record-tying four times on 8/27 at Reno…His 80 runs scored paced the Memphis squad, 22 doubles were T2nd and his .272 average ranked 3rd among regulars…Reached base safely in a league-leading 16 consecutive home games to open the season, 4/9-5/9… Hit .338 (25-74) with 16 walks in the first inning of games… Had a season high eight-game hitting streak from 7/10-20 (12-29, .414)…Ended the season hitting .315 (68-216) with 44 walks in 62 games from July 1 on; hit safely in 40 of his final 55 games (.326, 61-187)…Had 27 multi-hit games, including nine three-hit games…Was successful five of 10 times in stolen base attempts.

Began the season on the Yankees Major League roster, opening the season with a Major League club for the first time...Made his Major League debut on 4/4 with a start at shortstop at TOR. Picked up his first career big-league hit with a single to left field in the 9th inning off Jeremy Jeffress. Hit first career M.L. home run on 4/10 off Red Sox Clay Buchholz...Appeared at shortstop (9 games) and second base (3) for the Yankees. Pitched a single frame at Tampa Bay when he came in to pitch the 8th inning in what would be a 16-1 Yankees loss (allowed 2 runs on 3 hits)...Optioned to Scranton (AAA) on 4/24 where he played in 36 games, mainly at shortstop (2 games at second base). Began a six-game hit streak in his second game at Triple-A (4/28-5/4) going 8-27 (.296)...Was on the disabled list while at Scranton from 5/30-6/24 with right elbow impingement...Was claimed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates on 7/5 and was optioned to the Pirates Triple-A Indianapolis club...Finished the season at Indianapolis playing the majority of his 29 games at second base. Ended the year on a high note, going 4-4 at Louisville, his second 4-hit game of the year (also 7/19 at Colorado)...Played winter baseball for Yaquis de Obregon in the Mexican Pacific League during October. Hit .322 collecting at least one hit in 14 of his 17 games played.

Hit .331 (165-for-498) with 90R, 38 doubles, 9HR and 73RBI in 132 games with Triple-A Tucson… saw time at second base, shortstop, third base and in left field... Led the Pacific Coast League in batting average, ranked second in doubles and tied for fourth in runs scored and total bases (240)... In June, hit .369 (41-for-111) with 26R, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2HR and 16RBI in 29 games... Following the season, played in nine games for Estrellas de Oriente of the Dominican Winter League, batting .235 (8-for-34) with 1R, 2 doubles and 2RBI.
