25.2 innings, although did add 18 walks... MINORS: Spent the majority of the season with the 51s, making 24 starts... Led
the club in wins (9), ERA (4.46) and strikeouts (109)... Won his final three decisions, going 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA... BACK
FOR SEPTEMBER: Returned to the big leagues, making four starts in the seasons final month... Posted a 1-1 record with
a 5.24 ERA over that span... BACK IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE: Picked up his first win of the season and first since Sept.
7, 2008, in a 9-2 win on Sept. 21... STRUGGLED AWAY FROM HOME: Made four of his nine starts on the road, suffering

high by a rookie in the major leagues, tied with John Lannan
(Was) and Hiroki Kuroda (LAD)...Picked up his
first ML win, July 26 vs. SEA, allowing three ER in six innings
in an 8-3 win... Threw a complete game, his first, on Aug 27
at TB, despite taking the loss 1-0...When working on a regular turn with 4 days rest between

Spent the entire season at New Hampshire
(AA)...Began the season 3-0 with a 0.89 ERA earning Organizational
Pitcher-of-the-Month honours...Finished 0-5, with
a 7.56 ERA before landing on the Disabled List June 15 for
the remainder of the season (Cyst in his throwing
arm)...Pitched in the Arizona Fall League, posting a 1-2 record
with a 1.23 ERA in six starts...Allowed only 13 hits in
22.0 IP, while walking just nine and adding 25 strikeouts...
Was honoured as the AFL Pitcher-of-the-Week ending
November 12...Was regarded as one of the best
pitchers in the AFL...Did not allow an earned run in any of
his last four starts.
2006
Began the season with Syracuse (AAA) of the International
League, posting a 2-7 record with a 5.40 ERA...Held
opponents to a .249 avg, although walked 38 batters in only
51.2 IP...In six road starts, was 0-5 with a 7.40 ERA...Was
optioned to New Hampshire (AA) of the Eastern League in
June...Made 16 starts for the FisherCats, allowing three or
less earned runs in eight of his starts...Finished with a 3.57
ERA in his final three starts.
2005
Combined to pitch to a 9-7 record with a 3.47 ERA in
29 starts between Dunedin of the Florida State League (A)
and New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA)... At
Dunedin, posted a 5-4 record with a 3.63 ERA in 21 starts
and was tabbed to participate in its All-Star Game... Recorded
116 strikeouts in 94.1 innings which ranked 2nd on
the team and ranked third in the league at the time of his promotion
to New Hampshire... Held opponents to a .229 batting
average... Surrendered eight home runs... Had four
quality starts... Had six or more strikeouts in 12 of his 21
starts... Led the team with 56 walks... In April was 2-1 with a
3.38 ERA... April 7 vs. Clearwater he registered his first win
of the season... 5.0IP, 3H, 4BB, 4K... May 30 vs. Vero Beach
matched his season high with 7.0IP... Had a stellar June,
going 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA in five starts... June 9-July 23
made nine starts and had at least five strikeouts in all of
them... Over that span struck out 63 batters in 42.1IP... Was
promoted to New Hampshire on July 26... At New Hampshire
went 4-3 with a 2.93 ERA in eight starts... Held opponents
to a .205 batting average... Surrendered just two
home runs... Added another 45 strikeouts in the Eastern
League, giving him 161 on the season in 137.1 IP... Went at
least 5.0IP in all eight of his starts... Tossed a complete
game on August 8 against Harrisburg, in the first game of a
double-header... CG, 7.0IP, 3H, ER, HR, BB, 3K... Recorded
a season high 10 strikeouts in an August 18th win at
Newark, giving up just two hits on the night... Collected wins
in three of his last four starts of the season, going 3-1 while
giving up three earned runs over that span of games (19.2
IP)... September 3 at Norwich, in his last start matched a
season high by going 7.0IP... Was selected by Baseball
America as the 3rd top prospect in the organization.
2004
Drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round (16th selection
overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft... Agreed to
terms with the Club on July 23 after posting a 9-5 record and
a 3.11 ERA in 18 starts in his junior season at the University
of Oklahoma... Made just three regular season starts for Auburn
pitching to a 1-0 record with a 1.50 ERA in those
games (2 ER, 12.0 IP)... Pitched six perfect innings on the
road in Oneonta on September 1, for his first win as a professional...
Got the start in Game One of Auburn's New
York-Penn League semifinal series with Mahoning Valley,
but did not figure in the decision after giving up two earned
runs on seven hits in 6.0 innings of work... Struck out six batters without a walk in that game, after collecting 13 strikeouts
and one walk during the regular season... Was
selected by Baseball America as the 5th top prospect in the
organization.
