2007

Was slowed by injury during 1st season in SF, as left elbow bone spurs limited early season production and kept him on Disabled List May 10-June 8...underwent left elbow surgery May 11, procedure performed by Giants team physician Dr. Ken Akizuki...was hitting only .216 (21-for-97) with .283 on-base pct. over 1st 27 games...however, rebounded to bat .274 (82-for-299) with .346 on-base mark in 87 contests following surgery...was even hotter over last 3 months, going 68-for-230 (.296) in 70 games beginning July 1, raising avg. 49 points (from .211 on June 30)...logged impressive .367 on-base ledger over span...despite missing nearly month, stole 31 bases (in 36 attempts) for 1st 30-theft season by Giant since 1997 (Barry Bonds, 37)...theft total ranked 11th in NL, while 86.1% success rate was 3rd-highest in SF history for player with at least 30 steals (Bobby Bonds had highest pct. at 91.8% - 45 steals in 49 attempts in 1969)...had 171-game errorless streak snapped April 16 at Colorado, committing 1st defensive miscue since Aug. 10, 2005 vs. New York-NL (with San Diego)...matched career high (3rd time) with 10-game hitting streak July 1-16.

Logged 1st season in San Diego and batted .275 with career-high 8 HRs, 10 3Bs, and clubhigh 23 steals...ranked 5th in NL for 3Bs, and twice tied Friars franchise record with 2 3-baggers in single game (May 24 at Arizona and Sept. 21 at Colorado)...finished 10th in senior circuit for stolen bases, becoming 1st Padre to reach 20-theft plateau since Rickey Henderson in 2001...tied franchise record with 3 leadoff HRs, matching Rickey Henderson (1996) and Quilvio Veras (1998 and 1999)...opened May 4 game vs. Colorado, June 16 contest at Detroit and June 22 affair vs. Dodgers with clouts...was placed on DL April 2-18 with strained right groin...tied career high with 4 hits on 3 different occasions, doing so May 11 at Cincinnati, May 26 at Arizona and Sept. 21 at Colorado...also matched career best with 4 RBI in May 26 contest at Diamondbacks...was just 2- for-9 (.222) in NLDS, which St. Louis swept in 3 games...hammered 1st career post season HR in Game 3, solo clout off Brad Thompson.

Split season between Dodgers and Red Sox, combining to bat .254 with 14 2Bs, 7 3Bs, 4 HRs, 34 RBI and in 113 games...was base-stealing threat in both leagues, compiling 38 thefts (in 41 attempts)...92.7% success rate ranked 2nd in majors to only Carlos Beltran (93.3%)...established career high with 4 steals April 9 vs. Colroado...batted .253 in 68 games with Los Angeles, but was on DL May 5-27 with strained right hamstring...was acquired by Boston on July 31 trade deadline in exchange for OF Henri Stanley...was .256 hitter with Red Sox, and scored 15 runs in his final 27 AL outings...pinch ran for Kevin Millar in bottom of 9th inning of ALCS Game 4, stole 2nd base and scored game-tying run...Boston defeated Yankees in extra innings to launch epic comeback from 3-games-to-none deficit.

2003

Was limited to 107 games due to injured neck and right hamstring...logged pair of stints on DL because of hamstring strain, being shelved April 26-May 2 and again July 2-26...missed 8 games in early Sept. after straining neck on headfirst slide Aug. 30...despite nagging injuries, became 10th Dodger ever to post consecutive 40-steal campaigns...ranked 3rd in NL with exactly 40 thefts...ranked 4th among all big leaguers for infield hits and 3rd with 19 bunt hits...batted .487 (19-for-39) during career-best 19-game hitting streak April 11-23...committed 1st ML error April 22 at Cincinnati, snapping errorless streak at 406 chances...hit 2nd career leadoff HR in unique style, legging out 1st career inside-the-park clout Aug. 9 vs. Cubs...became 1st player in Minute Maid Park history to climb "Tal's Hill" while making a catch, climbing 10-degree incline in center field to rob Astros' Lance Berkman Aug. 28 at Houston...matched career high with 4 hits Sept. 19 vs. SF.

Spent 3rd full season in Indians' organization, splitting time between triple-A Buffalo and Cleveland...began season on 60-day Disabled List after having left shoulder surgery to repair torn labrum and fraying around the rotator cuff...surgery was performed Dec. 22, 2000 by Dr. Lewis Yocum...logged 17-game rehab assignment with double-A Akron...upon June 24 reinstatement, was optioned to Buffalo...recalled by Cleveland Sept. 1 and spent rest of season with big league club, batting .333 (4-for-12) with 2 RBI in 15 games.

2000

Spent entire campaign at Buffalo before joining Indians for last month of season...batted .292 with 13 HRs and 55 RBI in 120 minor league games...ranked 2nd in International League with both 93 runs and 39 steals...had 2 stints with Indians, May 26-29 and Sept. 1-remainder of season...appeared in 19 ML games overall.

1999

Went to big league Spring Training as non-roster invitee, but began season at Buffalo...triple-A All-Star was leading International League with 39 steals (in 42 attempts) at time of big league promotion, and finished 2nd overall...had contract purchased Aug. 7...made ML debut that night at Tampa Bay and collected 1st big league hit in 2nd at-bat, 2B off Bobby Witt...made 30 starts in CF with Indians, batting .248 with 10 stolen bases...appeared in 41 games overall, and was successful on 11-of-13 theft attempts...belted 1st ML HR off Angels' Ramon Ortiz Aug. 30 vs. Anaheim, finishing contest 3-for-4 with 4 runs and 3 RBI...connected for 1st career grand slam Sept. 24 at Toronto (off John Hudek)...appeared in two ALDS games vs. Boston, going 0-for-3...played for Caguas in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

1998

Split season between minor league clubs in Detroit and Cleveland organizations...began campaign with Detroit's double-A Jacksonville affiliate, batting .326 with 42 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 69 games en route to All-Star honors...however, was traded to Indians before All-Star Game and wore Tribe uniform in game...tied Akron franchise record with 22-game hitting streak...also logged 5-game stint at Buffalo.

1997

Stole 23 bases in 28 attempts, while logging entire year with Jacksonville.

1996

Spent most of season at single-A Visalia in Oakland organization, and was named fastest baserunner in California League by Baseball America...led all of minor league baseball with 65 stolen bases and paced Cal League 112 runs scored.

1995

Ranked 4th in Florida State League with 30 stolen bases, and 6th with .303 batting avg....played in 92 games for single-A Lakeland in Detroit system.

1994

Began professional career with 54- game stint at single-A Jamestown...batted .292 and stole 12 bases.
