Graduated from Roseville (CA) High School in 1989 and
went on to attend Sacramento City College, where he played
baseball in 1990 and 1991...was selected in the 32nd round of
the 1990 First-Year Player Draft by the California Angels, but
did not sign and returned for a 2nd season with the
